What I Wore: Mom Style

It's starting to feel like fall, so I HAD to whip out this poncho from Ann Taylor and my tall boots! While I'll miss summer, I do enjoy fall fashion and it's been great to sleep with the windows open and add an extra quilt to the bed!
This poncho was a splurge, but as I said in this post, it's a classic that will look great for many years. I knew I'd wear it in a casual manner like this for errands and weekend “Mom Style,” but also think it would look elegant in the office over blouses and trousers. I was excited to see these boots match this bag from Fossil; I haven't featured it on the blog since this post but am really feeling brown leather this season. The bag is big enough to carry everything I need for a weekend on the go!

I saw this post a few weeks ago and was sad to see the poncho was sold out online and not showing on the canadian site. I kept thinking about it and just remembered I received and email for 30% off in stores this weekend. I called just before close and my store has both colours in stock!

I love this! I am a mom of 2 boys. While I love the capsule wardrobe I feel like I can’t repurpose my work clothes when I am in “mom mode”. Despite what bloggers show, stilettos and skinny jeans make me look like a hooker.
I love this look. Now, PLEASE tell me how you keep your jeans from bunching up in the boots. I always gets a fluffy knee look which isn’t hot.

Mmm… brown leather… I’m loving your look, but I like the cognac leather I’ve been seeing around even more. Then again, possibly black is more flattering and versatile for me…

Finally found some brown knee boots that fit my wide calves at Catherine’s just last week. Have been searching for 2 years. I grabbed them up! Now thanks to your post, I can put together a great outfit! By the way, what does mom style look like? I don’t want to look like I did in my 20’s, but I really don’t want to look like I am 90 either. I just want to look stylish and neat while being comfortable and confident. If that is mom style, I am in!

Nothing Mom style about this – you look chic and polished. I love my poncho too – too funny we wore it the EXACT same combo – striped shirt brown boots. Too funny. I have been a fan of your blog too long – copy your style without even knowing it!
