My Wardrobe Today – Thursday
I bought this dress back in August. At that time it didn't fit – the arms were far too tight, it gaped at the waist and severely constricted my bust. I am glad to say it now comfortably fits. I may not be losing a ton on the scale, but I am seeing big changes in my figure as a whole.
Dress – Lauren by Ralph Lauren (purchased at Nordstrom, no longer available)
Belt – Ann Taylor (several seasons ago – used to replace the crocheted belt that came with the dress)
Shoes – Nine West
Silver cuff and hoops
Fabulously chic in this dress
Thanks Lini!
Maybe it’s the colour of the dress, but it makes me think your hair would look gorgeous as a chocolate brown shade for winter!
Love the dress! I have been contemplating buying a shirtdress with a attached belt for awhile now. I’ve found one I really like, (in a color that I love and flatters me like you wouldn’t believe! just waiting for it to go on sale :-))
But have been hesistant about purchasing it because of my body shape. I’m short thing (almost 5’0) and petite everywhere but my hips which appear bigger due to the belt and I wasn’t sure I could carry it off. Now that I’ve seen it flatters you so well, I know that I should juist go ahead and spoil myself! Thanks for the confidence boost! And you’re lookin’ good.
I haven’t owned a pair of hose since like 1998. I don’t like how they feel on me. However I have tights in most every color under the sun and now sheer tights/colored hose are back in style. I recently got some semi-sheer tights from Hanes recently. Haven’t tried them but got in gray and a taupey-brown which I thought would be a nice choice with dresses and tall boots or chunky heels.
Come winter, I will be wearing tights because I feel most comfortable in them. If you can find ultra sheer hose, I think they are a better choice than nude colored tights. 🙂
Great dress and it looks fabulous on you!
Question: I’m sure you’re not wearing pantyhose, because no one ever does anymore, but do you ever wear them? Or just tights? I am conflicted about this. On one hand (or leg!), they perform like shapewear only more comfortably, and they keep my legs warm on coolish (but not cold) days. On the other hand, they’re so out of style that I’m afraid I’d look ridiculous. I would NEVER wear “tan” pantyhose, but would it be a fashion crime to wear a very nude color? Also, my feet are often uncomfortable in shoes as they tend to sweat.
What are your thoughts?
Beautiful! Love the outfit! Simple but very pretty! =)

very cute!
YOU. LOOK. GORGEOUS. What a fantastic dress! And your hair is so chic and pretty! Love it all.
Your waist is so tiny in that dress! It’s a great look that looks great on you!
I love this whole outfit! I’ve been contemplating a solid shirt dress for a while and will now have to add the black belt to my mental shopping list.
this is so very cute on you!
and I wanted to tell you that after your review on the Lands End line, I’ve been online shopping on their site and want a ton of stuff! LOL
You are definitely looking great. I always think you do, actually. I have a dress similar to this in bright purple, and it’s one of my favorites.
And thanks too SHOEGAL – we must have been posting at the same time! 🙂
BTW this dress is a 14 PETITE. I think the petite part is what makes it fit so well! 🙂
And thanks Randa!
Very simple outfit, but you look gorgeous nonetheless.
You look absolutely adorable in this! I’ve always wanted a dress like that and have never found one that fit comfortably. I’ll have to start looking at Ralph Lauren then. Congrats on your body changes – I think you’ve always looked good but I can completely understand how exciting it must be to notice all the changes.
