One of my new dresses – depending on how the shoes work that are en route to my house, I may wear this one on Saturday. I love matte jersey, and this neckline works jsut fine for feeding or pumping.
And I haven't had an Emerson picture lately… here is one of her from this morning. Happy little baby is sporting one of her newest onesies.
A couple of days ago we received an unmarked brown shipping envelope addressed to Emerson. Inside was nothing but this onesie, which has the logo and the name of the band Umphrey's McGee. No invoice, no card, nothing.
“Emerson has a secret admirer who likes jam bands!” We figured out pretty quickly which friend of ours sent her the onesie. He was the one who saw this band with my husband in Jamaica and with both of us when I was in my last trimester. We gave him a call to thank him. But it was pretty funny. This picture was taken so I could put it in his thank you card. ๐
That gummy smile on your kiddo makes me want to smile! This is one of my favorite photos of her.
Like everyone else – love this dress on you. I like that it’s colourful but still sophisticated.
Thanks for your open reply Allie!
We dont actually have the brand spanx in Belgium, where I live.
The kind I can get my hands on roll down and dont suck in enough around the waist (used to have a better pair that has now died on me). So I end up sewing brastraps on them…which makes it really hard to go to the toilet because then I have to totally undress…
Am I the only one struggling with this? And how to solve it?
grts,
Jenny
I love this dress and the color and pattern – great buy!!!
Oh yes, I have Spanx “Higher Power” on under this dress. I have been wearing Spanx with every dress I wear to reduce postpartum belly jiggle. I also have a version by Assets which is from Target, but it doesn’t suck quite as well. ๐
Before baby, I rarely wore Spanx – only under clingy knit dresses. I did as Debbie wrote – wore bike shorts to prevent any chafing (If I wasn’t wearing tights). I got two pairs from Kmart in 2007 that I love – they aren’t too tight, very thin, have a moisture wicking gusset, no detail on them, are short enough to hide under shorter skirts,k but long enough to prevent the dreaded “chub rub.”
Hi and welcome to MBC! Great blog.
OMGosh, that looks so great on you, you chic mama!
Tera
love the new dress. sooo cute!
When I have dresses where I don’t need to be sucked in, just smoothed out a bit underneath, I’ll wear bike shorts instead of underwear. Bonus is that it prevents my thighs from rubbing together!
You are both lovely! ๐
The dress looks super on you! Very flattering! I always (have to) wear uncomfy spanx underneath, to avoid knickerlines and feeling flabby. I seem to end up wearing them sooo often. Ugh! How do you solve that? You look so streamlined in this dress.
Jenny
Great dress and once again, such a smiley baby!
Britta
I love that dress. It looks great on you!
That dress is positively GORGEOUS on you, lady!
