This is why shimmer shadow and flash photography don't mix. Keep this in mind brides-to-be: the last thing you want is brow bones (or under eye circles) that look like aluminum foil. In real light, it may look ethereal and pretty but when you get your proofs back from the photographer, you will be disappointed. That's my PSA for the day ๐
This weekend was awesome, the weather was so lovely! Saturday we sat out on the new deck and had lunch, Emerson of course joined us in her Boppy swing. We then took a walk and saw some friends of ours who invited us in for a drink.
Yesterday we took Emerson for another walk around town.
That evening, we had dinner at the home of some new neighbors. It was great to get to know them better, and we are happy to know they are also rabit LOST fans – we may be having a viewing party on a Wednesday night in the near future! ๐
Oh, also had to add another Emerson's Daddy Original – Little E is sporting a pink onesie with floral applique, a vintage turquoise crocheted cardigan (originally mine when I was a baby), aqua knit pants tucked into purple Hello Kitty socks, and neon striped BabyLegs on the arms (he thought her arms and hands would get cold). All topped off with a cream colored organic cotton bib! Again, she is happy as can be. I think he does this on purpose to see how I will react. The thing is, she's a little baby who is just hanging around the house.
I think it's tres Punky Brewster, no?
Right now I am an 8 in some shoes, an 8.5 in others. my Soffts MJs are 8.5 and are a bit big, but I also have them in a wide width. So I would say… pretty true to size.
A quick question about your Sofft MJs – do you feel that they are true to size? I’m a 7.5 who can sometimes go to an 8 (now that I’m post-childbirth) and I want to order some of these, but I’m not sure on the fit. What do you think about the sizing?
Emerson is so smiley! She must have enjoyed the lovely day as much as her parents did. ๐
Tres tres tres Punky Brewster! (Who I did used to adore, so maybe that’s a good thing.) Only a baby could get away with it…
The mama looks very elegant though.
I don’t know how much I weigh. I weighed myself a week after she was born and I had lost 15 lbs. I haven’t been on a scale since (forgot to weight myself at my 6 week appointment).
Soon at work they will have those fitness/health screenings. I remember what I weighed last year at it, so that will be a good judge of how I am doing.
But I do not fit into my pre-baby clothing, just a few pieces like stretchy dresses. My Essential Jeans from Gap can now get up over my thighs and hips, but cannot be zipped or buttoned (and are skin tight everywhere else). However two weeks ago I couldn’t get them even over my calves. This dress I tried on three weeks ago and the saggy tummy was so prominent even with Spanx (wearing a pair of Assets with it today), I couldn’t carry it off.
Even if I am my pre-baby weight, the figure has really changed. As you can see, I have more of an hourglass shape – before Emerson I was sort of like a sausage with a bubble butt and boobs. The breasts are of course much larger since I am breast feeding, the rear has dropped some, the hips have widened, the thighs and arms are a bit thicker, and of course I have some major saggage below the belly button. But in general, things are seeming to go in a healthy fashion just from drinking mainly water, breast feeding, watching what types of food I eat and walking. We’ll see how things go when (if!) I can fit in more regular walking and yoga!
You are looking great. Are you back down to ur prebaby weight because you are looking fabulous!!!
Emerson is adorable. Look how she is looking towards you while you are taking the picture (in her “daddy” outfit). She adores you! When I would nurse my little one (13 years ago) I would watch Dr. Brazleton on t.v. and he would talk about how their eyes follow you! Exactly what Emerson does!
She is GORGEOUS!!!! I keep my hubby away from dressing my little guy-he just can’t match (is he missing a gene?) ๐
Oh and Lost- love it- I’ll come over for a viewing party ๐
Hah! I had no idea about shimmer shadow … don’t think it looks horrendous here, but a good rule of thumb to know.
Looooove those looooong necklaces.
