Lots of really rough storms in my area yesterday, we were lucky and didn't lose power or any trees. Explains the crazy super humid thick air of yesterday. DC is known for being terribly humid, but yesterday was unusually intense (maybe why I was whining about heat when usually I am basking in 100 degree days begging for more!). Today is far nicer – hot but not so thick and soupy.

Nice sleek BLACK dress, classy jewelry, fantastic and daring use of the scarf – and then a pair of BROWN, Hoss Cartwright style boots that hit you at the widest part of the calf and draw attention to sores on your right leg? How much nicer you would look if you’d left those boots to be worn with a mid-calf length denim skirt and finished off your outfit with some shoes that were in keeping with the rest of the ensemble.
I wanted a pair of boots like that when I was a teenager too, and no, they wouldn’t fit me either. Just cause they fit doesn’t mean they work with everything. Some boots look good on a heavy leg, but those things just look like you found some of Hoss’ castoffs and are wearing them to cross the crick that’s flooded. Not flattering to your leg shape, not in keeping with the outfits you wear them with. A real jarring touch. Thought you had better sense than that.
Toss them, or keep them for under longer skirts in winter. Ugh! It isn’t trendy, it looks like you have no sense.
