Makeup is L'Oreal True match concealer in W4-5, philosophy's The Supernatural in Beige, Cargo Matte BeachBlush in Tenerife, Pop Beauty shadow set for brown eyes – the reddish shade and gold blended over lid and along lash lines, the brown and darker red blended in crease and along top lash line. Imju Fiberwig mascara, thin line of Maybelline UltraLiner in black on top lash line, on lips is Body Shop Sheer Lipcolor in Sheer Caramel.

I do alter things on occasion – doesn’t cost too much to hem a dress so I think it’s worth it. I don’t buy a bunch of separates from Target for that exact reason. Usually dresses, tees and skirts.

Do you alter the cloth you buy from Target? If I remember correctly, you’re a petite. I can hardly find anything from Target that fits a petite frame.

I think red is a great color as a neutral! Two years ago, my purse was an apple green leather and worked in the same manner – went with black, brown or even tan quite well. 🙂 I adore red purses.
It’s funny that you say that, because besides being OCD about my leathers matching, I also obsess about matching jewelry metals- not on me, as I wear only silver- on OTHERS. *hides head in judgemental shame*
My mom says she used to be the same way, and then she got over it. Now she wears silver earrings with her gold wedding band and platinum anniversary band with regularity.
The funny thing is, though, I am 29. You’d think that I’d have outgrown it by now.
I have a leather matching strategy, though. I buy only two colors of shoes and belts- chocolate brown and black. My (huge)purse is red, as is my wide leather watchband. This way, my shoes match my belt and my outfit, but the purse and watch, which have to with everything, are the “neutral” items, even though they are red. I know that red as a neutral sounds weird, but I think it really works.

It’s funny, the older I have gotten, the less I care about leathers matching. I have a camel tumbled leather hobo for day and sport it with chocolate suede, black patent, red calfskin without a second thought. However 5 years ago, I would have NEVER sported this outfit!
Newp, an old dress – a bout a year or so. When i bought it, it was on clearance. But shows it’s worth it to checkout Target on occasion, especially the Go International guest lines!
This is the same dress that I have worn here and even back here.

Hmm… Interesting choices, Allie. I cannot say I dislike this look, and yet I know I would never wear it– or rather, I know I could never pull it off! He he.
I am built similarly to you; that is, I am pretty full figured, with big boobs and a short torso, and I find belts over tops to be very unflattering (think matronly) on me, especially if they sit at my natural waist. You appear to be doing more of an empire waist, and while it looks cute on you, I would just be fearful of looking like I was in maternity clothes.
Also, the fact that the boots and the belt don’t match would drive me to distraction all day, but in the photo it looks fine on you.
Maybe I need to break out of my comfort zone a little.
