This Weekend

Saturday started with yoga, then checking out new dining tables at various retailers. Nothing exciting- black yoga pants from ProSpirit, teal scoop tee from Gap, New Balance trainers and a coat. Usually don't go out in public in workout clothes (big personal no-no) but we were strapped for time.

Alison 004Dashed home still sans a dining table, and changed and prepped in about 8 minutes to meet my sorority Little Sister and husband and my Grand Little sister in downtown College Park for lunch and a few brews before the UM/BC game. They were in town just for the weekend and it was so great to see them (yes L, I DID put you on my blog. Let's go Terps! Picture at Cornerstone Bar and Grill).

Since I dressed and did makeup and hair in zero time, I threw on a black tencel tee from Banana Republic, black merino crewneck from Banana Republic, my “The Flirt” dark bootcut jeans from Old Navy, black coral necklace that my husband got me in Mexico, and black city boots from Impo. My avocado pashmina for warmth. I didn't wear Maryland apparel because we didn't go to the tailgate or game (previous commitment).

Hair was air dried during yoga, I curled the frizzy pieces and rubbed in some Jonathan Silky Dirt while dry.

Alison 007Makeup was L'Oreal true match concealer in W4-5, philosophy The Supernatural in Beige, Nars blush in Orgasm, Revlon Super Lustrous lip gloss in Glossy Rose, Revlon ColroStay shadow quad in Neutral Khakis – ivory in inner corners, khaki on lid. Lashes curled, two coats of DiorShow in black and a nice line of Maybelline UltraLiner in black.

After lunch and a second pub, the husband and I made a Starbucks run (that's us outside Starbucks) and then headed home and friends came over for a casual dinner and night of Netflix.

Sunday, we started with breakfast at a local diner, a few errands, and then home chores while my husband and his friends watched the Redskin game (currently going on). I am a DC girl through and through, but I really don't care too much for sports. Won't pass up a chance for a live game for the Caps, United, Nationals or ‘Skins, but I don't follow it to the extent of many of my friends.

Alison 011Alison 012Anyway, for today I have been wearing a teal scoop tee from Gap, teal merino bateau-neck sweater from Banana Republic, same jeans as yesterday, same boots as yesterday. Hair is second day, a bit of curling iron on the bangs and some peices to make look smooth and makeup is philosophy's The Supernatural in Beige, Cargo Matte BeachBlush in Tenerife, Imju Fiberwig mascara and a bit of Burt's Bees lip balm.

Tonight we have a photo shoot and will be using our living room as the studio so I probably will not be changing my attire.

  1. The Silky Dirt does help – it’s like a styling lotion and pomade all in one and a very small amount emulsified and spread all over the hands, then I twirl around curls does keep them in place a bit better and help fight humidity. Since using this stuff, I think I have used hairstpray maybe once. Be careful – too much and you’ll look greasy. But a small amount gives the right amount of body and control and shine to curls and waves!

  2. Allie,
Does the Jonathan dirt help keep your curls wll formed? I just learned to really turn my wave into curls. I am looking for something to bring out the curl and prevent frizz. Your hair always look so great.
    Thanks,
    LBR

  3. OMG I am so jealous of your hair in the first pic!!! You don’t know how many years I tried to make my hair exactly like that. I finally cut if off into a Posh-like asymmetrical bob.

  4. Hahaha. I didn’t know you went to UMCP! I rocked out there until graduation in 2000. It is funny seeing the Cornerstone again!

  5. Sounds like a great weekend! I too, am NOT big on sports, but I love college hockey. I am a UMBC alumnus, so I follow the Retrievers religiously. Sorry Allie, we beat College Park in both games we played this season! Maybe I’ll see you at a Caps game!
