I think this is the first time I have done this in a decade… I went to work with wet hair. I couldn't help it; I got up late because I went to bed late and my hair is just so in need of a cut that when it's straight it parts int he middle and flips up at the ears and looks awful. I washed it, added the Curly Sexy hair's Curl Power and let it air dry. My hair is a bit icky in front, but I just left my sunglasses on my head (as done in this picture) as a makeshift headband. It's warm out, it fits the outfit, whatever.
Orange scoopneck tee from American Apparel, gray ribbed tank from Caslon, olive ripstop cotton skirt from J. Crew, tan sandals from Target, coral glass chip necklaces from a boutique at the beach, silver cuff. Pink tinted aviators from Target.
Makeup is L'Oreal True Match foundation in C3, concealer in W4-5, The Body Shop's Bronzing Powder in Light, a bit of Nars blush in Orgasm. On eyes is Revlon ColorStay shadow quad in Neutral Khakis – ivory in inner corners and along brow bone, khaki on lid, chocolate in crease and along lash line. Lashes curled and Cover Girl's Lash Exact mascara in black applied. on lips is e.l.f. Super Glossy lip Shine in Watermelon.
So I had to visit 8 different stores to find a replacement bottle of my True Match foundation. I guess every woman in Maryland is the same pale shade of ivory that I am! I treated myself to lunch last Friday because I was having a tough work day (soup, salad and breadsticks at Olive Garden with the latest issue of Allure!) and on the way back I passed a CVS. Not my neck of the woods, I gave it a chance. Not only did they have my foundation (though only one bottle) they had a sale on lots of brands. Revlon lip products were buy one get one 50% off and the Revlon ColorStay shadow quads were on sale for $4.99. I still have some ivory, and a decent amount of chocolate and olive left in my current quad, but missed having the khaki. I then remembered there was a $2 coupon in Allure for Revlon so I got the quad for $2.99! Not bad since I have had the current one for MONTHS and it is still not 100% gone.
my purse has a front pocket that is too slim to hold much of anything except paper. I use that pocket to hold all these random coupons. You never know when a Maybelline lipstick will draw you in, and these cosmetics coupons usually have expiration dates about a year in the future. I also keep all kinds of other coupons in there that I gather – yesterday got $2 off 2 boxes of Boca Burgers, and as a vegetarian that made my day!
Also a great color for you!
That orange is a very good color for you. Great outfit, you look slim and ready for summer!
i just recently came upon your blog and i think you are so cute! you have def inspired me to play around with my colored tops a bit. im a teacher and its not required that i dress up, so i started to go into a slump. but after checking out your site i realize i can still be casual and cute. thanks and keep up the good work. you’re great!

Just wanted to say – great blog, keep it up, i visit your site regularly because you have so many inspiring tips for someone who’s also petite! The HK work dresscode is somewhat more formal – ironic considering how hot it gets here – but you give me great ideas nevertheless.
I really like that color combination on you. Sharp and casual all at once. Nice.
I love that your got the necklace from a boutique on the beach… the other day I was shopping in one of those ‘artsy from around the world’ stores and they had so many cute beaded and metal necklaces like that, I just didn’t know which one to pick so I chose none… however, I AM going back.
you look GREAT, Dilly!
