D 120306 002D 120306 004Today is more like my Friday because I will be on a plane tomorrow to Miami to catch a weekend cruise to the Bahamas! Yee-haw! I will not be posting again until Tuesday at the earliest, and my goal is to photograph my looks while on my trip.

Anyway, back to today's outfit. Black v-neck kimono-sleeve sweater from Ann Taylor Loft (available now and on sale!), my trusty denim trousers from Gap, new silver chain from Ann Taylor Loft (also on sale), silver dangle earrings from Nordstrom, multiple silver bangles bracelet from Ann Taylor Loft (boy am I an ad for them today!) and black city boots from Enzo.

Hair is on it's second day, just blown straight while dry with a round brush.

Makeup is L'Oreal true match foundation in C3, concealer in W4-5, Chanel pressed powder in Natural, a bit of Smashbox Soft Lights in Tint and a bit of Body Shop's bronzer in light. On eyes is a light dusting of Body Shop's Slate shadow on the lid, Maybelline silvery white on inner corners and along brow bone, Maybelline Ultra Liner in black on top lash line and L'Oreal Full Definition mascara in black on both sets of lashes. on lips is Body Shop's Sheer Lipcolor in Sheer Strawberry.

  1. I personally will not own a pair of skinny pants because I would look like an ice cream cone. I have a booty and I have breasts and I have broad shoulders. Bootcut may not be at the top of the trends, but it makes my body look long, lean and proportional.

My sister is 2 inches taller (though all in the leg) and purchased a pair of narrow (not skinny) jeans and looks great in them, slim flats and floaty tops.

Some fashions stick around even if they are not super trendy. Bootcut pants and jeans, peasant tops, capris, a-line skirts… they have become classic pieces because they look good on the majority of women. So wear what you love (as long as it isn’t pleated and tapered!) and you will look stylish and chic!

  2. just to let you know, favorite apron, according the foot high stacks of celeb gossip, style, and fashion rags, go for the straight leg instead of the bootcut and that will give you the appearance of the skinny leg without actually having to get a time machine and zoom back to your twelve year old thighs.
because, you know, you come here to get advice from the COMMENTERS…hehe ๐Ÿ˜‰
but dilly what I wanted to say is you mentioned the smashbox again and when you first talked about the product I was completely agog and ready to run not walk to the nearest Sephora but the huge pile of unpaid bills tripped me on the way out the door…so I have found this product on eBay at very affordable prices, there’s one ending a few minutes for 9.99 with 3.75 s&H and they retail for 28.00

  3. You always make me smile Dilly.

What do you make of the new trend of narrow leg pants? How does a 5’4 size 12 ( me) wear those? Or maybe, at 41, I should not be looking at trends but only what looks good on me.

    Still learning,
    P.
