I borrowed this dress from Gwynnie Bee over a month ago and haven't wanted to send it back.ย In fact, this is the other dress I currently have that I am seriously considering purchasing from Gwynnie Bee.ย This dress feels like silk but is machine washable.ย Lined, pockets, and a drapey cut that is comfortable on a hot day.ย While I wore it here with a belt the wide elastic waist looks nice on its own too, it gives it a more casual look.
I've had a Panama hat from J. Crew Factory for a year, but I never really liked it. It always seemed to lie wrong on me, always looked a bit crooked. My mom has been cleaning out her house and found this hat; I remember going to Loehmann's with my mom and her friend and buying this hat, I think it was 9th grade. This hat is so much better of quality than my J. Crew one and isn't all wonky! It was perfect for a very sunny and hot day in DC with the family.
Edited to add: looks like you sent it back. SAD DAY!
Serious question: did you keep the dress? And if so WOULD YOU SELL IT TO ME??
I signed up for Gwynnie Bee based on this exact dress alone. It said it was available, I signed up and went through the entire profile and everything…and then went to put the dress in my closet and it was not available in any size.
I have been on the hunt for it, because it freaking haunts my dreams. Literally. *unhappy exasperated sigh*
Anyway, I had this hope I would find it some day and buy it from someone. And here you are! Oh please oh please!
Worth a shot!
I am so sorry Shay, I returned it! But that means it may end up in your size very soon. Have you contacted their customer support? They may have it available for purchase but not available for rent due to lack of numbers… good luck!!
You look great in that outfit, I’d definitely think about keeping the dress. So cute and pretty. ๐
I absolutely love everything about this outfit.
Love this dress and love it on you!
Is it available anywhere? What is the brand?
The shoes are great, but how do you walk around outside all day in heels that high? I can manage a higher heel for my work in an office or church or an evening out, but can only handle about a 2 1/2″ height for walking any distance outdoors. Even then it has to be a wedge! ๐
These are some of the most comfortable shoes I own, and they have a heel that starts out wide and tapers a bit but gives similar support to a wedge. I wore them all over Columbus, Ohio this weekend and then all over DC this past Monday no issue while I often get pain from lower heels. It’s less about the height and more about the shape of the shoe and heel ๐
Giant flowers + v-neck + belt + hat…this is just a great outfit, and the colors look great on you. And the way you put it together with those neutrals make it seem less “statement” where the focus is just the dress and someone would remember as soon as they saw you wear it again, and more of an…ensemble, a well-styled whole. Does that make sense? In any case, I would totally wear this, I love it! thanks for some great style inspiration!

Thank you!
Love the dress and hat !! You look great!!!
Thanks!
Just wondering what sized you ordered in this….thinking about getting it as well. We are basically the same size ….if you dont mind me asking. Thanks
I borrowed this dress in an 0X ๐
Loehmans! Are they still around? I remember trying on clothes in the changing room which was just a big, giant room with benches all the way around, piles of clothes everywhere, feeling very self conscious getting down to my skivvies in front of a bunch of other women.
And I’m a hat person. My husband is embarrassed when I wear my hats and teases me.In the nicest way possible.
Looks like they still exist online but closed any stores near me. That giant changing room is why I got the hat, I was a young teen and freaked out by all these older women stripping down in a communal room and had to get out of there ASAP. This was in the men’s accessories department, and didn’t require me taking off a single piece of clothing ๐
What a perfect outfit…practical yet stylish!! jodie

Thanks!
You should buy it! I love being able to buy the dresses from Gwynnie Bee. I’ve also searched the Internet for the dresses I loved and have occasionally found similar dresses from the same designer in last year’s print.
The dress is still over $100 with the GB discount and while I like it, I just don’t think it’s worth that price. I sent it back yesterday, but I still have the maxi in my possession!
I have much better luck with hats when I look for bigger sizes.
I never thought about what size my head was until I bought a hat for my son and he informed me that he had a big head and it didn’t fit. I measured my own head and found out that I need a larger hat. Big heads must run in our family.
I have a huge noggin, always have. I can’t buy hats in Target and places like that because their one size that fits most does not fit me! ๐
Love the floral/stripe combo. Great dress.

I love that hat and love that you can wear it and give it new life!
Me too, talk about shopping your own closet. Never thought to shop my childhood closet!
