Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale: My Picks for 2024

The Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale starts May 22nd and runs through June 2nd. This sale is very similar to the July Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in which select items are up to 60% off and it is a mix of last-season clearance and new items you can wear this season. I think the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale has a few winners that may be worth your time and money if you're looking to expand your wardrobe. I don't believe in shopping just to shop, but it is when you may be unpacking your warm-weather clothes and realize there are some holes in your closet, or a few new pieces may make your closet feel more cohesive and modern.

There are over 27,000 products in the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale, so I went through it to share my picks that may be worth both your time and money. I may be missing some serious deals and awesome items, so do check out the sale for yourself. But use my guide on how to shop Nordstrom sales like a pro to narrow down the list and save time (and buying something you really don't need).

This sale is a fast-moving one and when items are sold out, they're gone for the rest of the sale. Don't hesitate, and don't blame me if items are out of stock by time this is published!

My Picks for Apparel on Sale

Keep cool with natural fibers and lightweight clothing that catches the breeze. These pieces in linen, cotton, and gauze are stylish and comfortable for summer. Do know almost all of these items are also available in other colors.

Nothing like a dress for easy one-step dressing. Especially come summer, a dress gives airflow while still looking polished. Add a pair of slipshorts underneath for comfort and you're ready for work, weekend, and special occasions. All of these dresses are available in plus sizes and on sale for less than $100.

My Picks for Sale Footwear

I focused on the two styles of shoes I find I need this time of year: a flat dressy sandal or slide, and a closed-toe flat or low heel elevated shoe. I have the sandals and the sneakers, but these are the two styles that are perennially useful from late spring to early fall.

Dressy Flat Sandals on Sale

The dressy flat sandal is useful for warm-weather situations that include sand, grass, boats, and outfits that need something nicer than a pair of Tevas, but you can still stand in for hours. They're less trendy and something you can also tuck into an almost-full suitcase to elevate dresses and trousers on travel. These vary in level of formality because sometimes all you need is an elevated flip flop and sometimes you want a more formal look to wear with maxi dresses and cocktail jumpsuits.

Summer Flats Under $100

The closed-toe shoe is a summer version of loafers, low-heel pumps, and leather flats but in colors, styles, and textiles that feel appropriate from March to September (or year round if you live in a sunnier climate). Visiting a house of worship, attending a funeral, heading into the office, going somewhere with powerful A/C, and days when you just don't want to show your toes. I kept them under $100 and chose styles that won't look dated in a year.

My Picks for Accessories and Bags Under $200

Again, I focused more on accessories and handbags you can use now versus stocking up for fall and winter. Who knows what the future holds for weather, trends, and your needs and I didn't see anything so incredibly awesome and discounted it was worth stocking up. But there are some really great bags, jewelry, scarves, sunglasses, and other accessories and all I picked are under $200 (with many under $100 and even under $50).

Sure light colors may reflect the sun and keep you cooler on the hottest days, but these black and silver accessories can really add to a spring to fall wardrobe. Pair with chambray, white, tan and khaki, olive, and add a toughness to more feminine of silhouettes and prints. I believe you will see a lot of black and silver together come fall and this will get you started.

Warmer tones of brown and tan will transition more easily into fall and add a subtle punch to the “coastal chic” soft colors of linen, chambray, and cotton that you may have from last summer or will still see this year in stores.

My Picks for Beauty on Sale

Honestly, I didn't find a lot of good beauty deals unless you are a devotee to Bobbi Brown, Clinique, or Armani, or are looking for a luxe candle for less. These were the winners I found:
