I can't rave enough about the new arrivals at Gwynnie Bee. Sequins, leather, peplum, and some of the most fun prints. As soon as I saw this elephant print shirt I had to add it to my Gwynnie Bee virtual closet! Ensembles like this are perfect for weekends or days when I am running late – lots of details, but simple pieces that are quite comfortable. This top would also look cute with skinny jeans tucked into black engineer boots, and I toyed with wearing a leopard haircalf cuff with it for some fun pattern mixing. Think the shirt would also look great under a black boyfriend blazer with black heavyweight leggings or narrow pants and a pair of flats (maybe leopard print!).

here's still a few days to take advantage of Gwynnie Bee's free trial promotion. Through November 30, 2012 if you sign up for Gwynnie Bee and mention Wardrobe Oxygen you get a free, 30-day trial subscription (up to three items at a time). Cancel on or before your 30 days are up and you wonโ€™t be charged a thing (Gwynnie Bee will need their clothes back though). Just request an invite (the site is invite-only at this time), tell them that Wardrobe Oxygen referred you, activate your account, browse around and give it a try. You will receive an email with the invite and the trial instruction.

If you celebrated, how was your Thanksgiving weekend?ย  Thursday, we went to my mom's house for our traditional Thanksgiving feast.ย  This year we got a local, hormone-free, happy life turkey from Ferguson Family Farm via our local farmers market and boy, does it taste better than the standard grocery store Butterball!ย  Each year we have the same side dishes – boiled pearl onions, peas, mashed potatoes, stuffing, rolls, cranberry sauce.ย  I usually make green bean casserole but decided to be a bit healthier this year (and be dairy-free) and made broccoli rabe in garlic olive oil with red pepper flakes.ย  Sunday was my husband's paternal side of the family reunion in Maryland and we had a great time catching up with loved ones and Emerson had a blast making crafts and playing with her cousins.ย  The rest of the weekend wasn't relaxing but it was productive – got a lot of cleaning done (you can see my closet cleanout on Instagram), bought a new TV since ours decided to die the day before Thanksgiving, and had a lot of QT with Karl and Emerson.

  1. I love these shoes! I’ve been in the market for a new pair of black pumps, and these seem to be the perfect amount of point to the toe. Any reviews on them? do they fit pretty true to size, or narrow, etc? varied points of view on the piperlime reviews.

    1. I think they run a tad wide but true to size. Bit of toe cleavage on the edges, but not so much I find them unprofessional. Incredibly comfortable and wearable all day. I actually want to get another pair since these are getting pretty beat up but see they’re starting to go on sale places and will try to wait until spring when they may be even cheaper ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Love this outfit Allie! My work is open all days of the year, but I was lucky to get out early. The hubs and I had Boston Market again this year. Next year, I might cook. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Just found your blog and I’m so glad I did. Your outfit is charming and you look wonderful. Looking forward to future posts.

  4. Allie: Are you ever just completely lazy and just hibernate and tune out the world? Closet clean out on Thanksgiving weekend?! I just ate and ate and hung out at home with my immediate family. #FML ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. I wish I could, but a holiday weekend is the only time I have to get anything done. I usually get home on weekdays, immediately make Emerson dinner and get her ready for bed (she’s lights out by 8pm, 8:30 when her delay tactics are in full effect). By time that is over, my husband is home if it’s a day he teaches and we then eat, and are soon in bed. Weekends I usually have Emerson since that’s when my husband teaches and has photo shoots and I can’t really get quality cleaning, organizing, etc. done with her. It seems each Black Friday I spend knee-deep in my closet, and the time between Christmas and New Years is often when I rearrange/redecorate a room in the house (hoping this year it will be the home office so it can truly be one and not just a junk/storage room!).

  5. You are just knocking it out of the park lately! Those leggings look amazing on you, and I love the makeup and wavy hair.
