This Soma Jogger Set Is My New Fave
This spring-weight Soma jogger set (this top and these joggers) has been on repeat. I'm kinda obsessed and I hate when it's in the laundry because I love wearing it so much. it looks pretty ordinary but when you're wearing it, it's a whole different experience.
Soma Jogger Set for Spring
Joggers: c/o Soma (L) | Top: c/o Soma (L) | Earrings: Baublebar | Shoes: Birkenstock | eReader: Kindle (old)
I've raved before about how much I love Soma joggers. They redesigned them and now the tie can actually be cinched, but otherwise, they are still super soft, durable, and look great. The Soma joggers come in three colors: black, an oatmeal shade, and this heather navy. No surprise, I have all three and the navy is my most recent acquisition.
I got this matching pullover, to create a matching Soma jogger set, not expecting to like it as much as I do. It's called the Soft Boatneck pullover and it's not cropped, but hits shorter than most sweatshirts and doesn't have the band at the bottom. However, I find it long enough to do a half-tuck.
The sleeves have a wide elastic band at the cuffs, which is unusual but it's comfortable and adds an interesting style element. While the neck is a boatneck, my bra straps aren't on display.
Why I love this set is how incredibly soft it is. And that it remains just as soft even after multiple washings. This is the kind of set you want to nap in, you want to wear without a bra, you look forward to putting on.
Because the top isn't banded, and has a more refined neckline. Because the pieces aren't stiff or bulky. Because like most Soma pieces, they are shaped for a woman's body and not unisex or juniors… this feels more polished even if you have bedhead and are wearing your favorite comfy wireless bra.
I am wearing a Large in both pieces of this Soma jogger set, and both pieces have been washed and dried at least twice before these photos. The top is available in four colors, but is on sale so sizes are running out. The joggers come in three colors and unfortunately not all the same colors for both pieces.
But Soma has a bunch of other separates like a hooded wrap/long cardigan/soft jacket thingie with pockets, an off-the-shoulder top, tank, and much more in this fabric and complementary fabrics so you can mix and match a loungewear capsule.
Soma Soma Loungewear:
I mentioned Friday I got a new pair of Birkenstocks for the spring in white; here they are. Birks need a bit of breaking in so I've been wearing them around the house like slippers, with and without socks. I've been wearing Birks inside all winter with thick socks and my feet thank me for the arch support and structure that is lacking in a lot of slippers. And they're easy to adjust weight by the thickness (or lack) of socks depending on the weather.
Can you believe Oscar was not supposed to be in this shoot? I swear this guy is such a ham. He sees the camera out and just HAS to be involved! You wouldn't believe how many studio photos (the ones where we put up the backdrop and use lights for posts like this) are deleted because of a blurry nose or tail gets into the shot!
The length seems to be good on you, but I think I ordered these early in the pandemic and they were a little too long for me (5โ 4โ). Are those regular length?
These are the regular length. They changed the joggers. The previous ones only came in black and the tie was for show only. These are different – fabric, cut, and I agree, length!
I have two pairs of the Soma Joggers and I’m a size 20. I have a black pair which is in the heavier weight fabric and a gray heather that is lighter weight. I have both pairs in the XXL and they are a little big on me, sometimes I have to push the waistband down because they tend to ride up on me. I’m dying for a navy pair though! I think I will try the XL next time.
Some day, I hope Soma starts making their joggers in talls. They look and sound so nice! And they make some of their Cool Nights PJs in talls, so I know they have the capability!
That WOULD be a good idea! And their sister brand is Chico’s, which often has talls!
I always love the Soma items that you post, but as a plus size 22/24 2x/3x gal, I didn’t think they would fit. I was just looking again and see that their xxl is supposed to go up to 22. That is right on the edge for me. I’m wondering if any other folks in my size range have tried Soma and can give any advice or feedback? I hate the hassel of ordering and returning, so would like to avoid that if possible.
I could have written this entire post! There is so much… wiggle rom… in plus sizing, it’s really hard to know. One company’s 22 is NOT the same as another.
While we’re on the subject, know what my LEAST favorite sizing pattern is? When they have 1X (18-20) and 2x (22-24). I just KNOW everything will be too small or too big. ๐ And sraight sizes have so much less “jump” between them.
Anyhoo, I wuld also love to hear form a 22 who has tried Soma. ๐
Kara – I am an 18/20 with a 42 DD/DDD bust. I wear an XXL in Soma tops and XL in Soma bottoms. So the XXL joggers may work for you? In the before times, I went to a Soma store and almost wrote them off entirely due to their lack of larger sizes. But Alison’s many posts persuaded me to try them again and now I live in their XXL cool nights nightgowns and XL essential leggings. However, as a cusp plus size person with plus size friends, I am often bummed that I can’t share one of my fave lounge brands with the people I love.
No Soma but their sister brand Chico’s, a reader who is a size 22 bought their cotton cashmere jogger set in the largest size and found it plenty comfy and roomy even after washing. I haven’t heard anything yet about Soma and look forward to more readers sharing their experience.
I have 2 pair of the black joggers- navy would be nice for spring which is finally arriving!!
