Today it's gloomy, cold, rainy. I had an outfit set to wear but I just didn't want to waste it on such a craptastic day. Instead I went with some really basic pieces in colors that would give a bit of cheer to this gray Monday. Also… wanted to wear my new shoes! This weekend I stopped in Marshalls purely to purchase some new bed pillows but the shoe department was so tempting I had to take a peek. These babies were on the clearance wall for only $30! They are Nine West and are uber comfortable. I was looking for a nude shoe for this spring and summer that had an accent color – I was hoping for black for versatility, but I think this bright coral is a nice choice, and will be a fun accent with all the brights in my wardrobe.
And how cute is this bag from Handbag Heaven? I love the mini satchel style – it's the perfect size to hold an iPad or netbook and it's vegan. While it has the flap closure, it also has a zipper closure, an inside zipper pocket and two inner pouch pockets for small items like phones. There's also a zipper pocket on the back to hold quick-access items like a SmarTrip card or lip balm. You can easily tuck in the adjustable strap to make it a handbag, or lengthen the strap and wear it as a crossbody. I was able to fit my wallet, umbrella, cosmetic bag, calendar, two smartphones, and even a paperback novel into this bag with room to spare!

Ah the problem with taking photos in a dash, not checking them in a viewfinder & not knowing what they look like until I see them at work. Ever had your pants adjust when sitting (or buckling a kid into a carseat) & you try to fix it but without a mirror you aren’t sure how things look? And you have a husband who says, “Babe we’re running late, lets get on with it” & doesn’t notice things like muffin tops? Yeah, it was that sort of morning. Once my pants were adjusted correctly the muffin top was not showcased in such a manner. I could have gone sans post, could have Photoshopped it to hell, or could have just posted what I really looked like at 7am. I chose to be real. 🙂

Mine was just labeled as a bubble necklace but I looked after getting it and yes, it’s also sold as a J. Crew one from the same seller, and came from Hong Kong. One of the discs fell out, but it’s easy to superglue back in place, and it looks nice (though the balls are a slightly different color from the discs, not sure if the J. Crew real one is like that). The chain is adjustable, the metals match throughout (slightly matte gold).
Allie – is the necklace the ones you see on ebay labeled “J Crew” that ship from Hong Kong and priced around $15? I think yours looks great! I just didn’t know what I would be getting if I ordered one from HK.

You look adorable. And man, I almost put back a pair of pants this color this morning at Target but didn’t. So glad now I kept them as this gives me a great idea on how to wear them! Love the shoes. I had a shoe score this weekend too at Ross. Rockport heeled sandals with adidas technology for $10!
