What I Wore: Friday in September
Jacket – Limited (at least 10 years old – similar)
Tank – Caslon (similar)
Necklace – J. Crew via eBay
Jeans – Gap “Long and Lean” via the DC Sip & Swap
Shoes – Miss Sixty “Jaiden”
Bracelets – Lauren Ralph Lauren and Ann Taylor
So um… two things going on here. You'll see that not only am I wearing my engagement ring, but also my wedding band! I was able to get it on this past weekend and have been wearing ever since. I haven't been able to fit it since my first trimester and even then it was a tight fit!
Second… these jeans? I picked them up in a rush at the DC Sip & Swap and got home, hoping they would run large. I couldn't even get them over my butt and thighs. This morning I was looking for my old Gap Essential jeans, thinking maybe I could cuff them like boyfriend jeans. Digging through the “To Donate/Swap/eBay” bag I found these jeans and gave them a chance. They FIT! Me, in a size 10 pair of jeans? This hasn't happened in YEARS! Happy Friday to me!
This weekend is my friend's baby shower, and there is a blues music festival in town. Otherwise pretty free. I hope me and the fam can relax, get this bug past us 100% (Emerson is pretty sick again and my husband is also battling it). What are your plans for the weekend?
Thanks so much Hayley!
You have legs for days in those jeans! This is such a flattering outfit on you, Allie. And I love the pop of color from the necklace. I just love, love love this look.
I will… once I get back to a meeting! I haven’t gone in so long because work has been in the way. Fingers crossed I get to go this weekend and will be sure to have an update after! ๐ Best of luck with your WW journey!
You look amazing! I joined WW two weeks ago because you inspired me. Please do an update soon!
Mind you, my pair is old and the way the Long and Leans are cut now a 10 doesn’t fit (or didn’t, I’ve not tried for a long while since I fell out with Gap for stopping doing a 36″ leg in the UK, and for their stupidly thin t shirt fabric). I see some others picked up on Gap’s crazy sizing lower down in the comments.
Woo hoo! And that’s crazy – it must be your height because you look WAY slimmer than I! ๐
I wear a US 10 in Long and Lean jeans – so you are officially the same size as me now! And yay that your wedding ring fits again!
xx
Thanks Alicia!
Thanks Callandra! I did feel a bit tall (well taller than 5’3″!) on Friday thanks to those jeans and shoes!
Thank you! I love that it’s an adjustable length, makes it so versatile!
That is amazing!! Love that you are able to get in the jeans and the rings! YAY! Really love the necklace.
You look super tall in those jean Allie!!
I love the J Crew Necklace!
Aw thanks Misty!
Also, wanted to add, you look so tall!
You look absolutely wonderful! (You’ve been my inspiration to keep going with WW and force myself to work their program instead of my own variation. I hope I look as good as you do in six months!)
This outfit is doing great things for your figure! You look so long and lean! Those jeans are good on the bum too ๐
Hooray on the weight loss! It’s such a great feeling to slip into a pair of jeans that you couldn’t squeeze yourself into. Keep taking baby steps to lose weight. Lately I have been reducing my breakfast portions. One egg instead of two, a smaller cereal bowl etc. I was finally able to wear a shirt that fit tight around my waist! Baby steps.
I really like this look, it suits you and the jacket it very slimming. Congrats on your weight loss.
You ARE important, and I am so proud of you making a good example for your daughter! Thank you so much for your comment! ๐
Allie,
I have been recovering from surgery and am playing catch up with the blog. You look stunning! Congratulations on the body transformation. Keep up the great work. And thanks for giving me the instruction and confidence to dress in a manner that instills the idea that “I am important” to my daughter. I am out of the sweat/yoga pant rut. My daughter (11years old) loves looking at your outfits and accessories!
Thanks so much Cynthia!
Yay! And congrats on the size 10 jeans – I remember the first time that I fit back into a size 10, I almost cried with joy. It was right up there with getting back into “regular” sized clothing.
You are definitely looking lean and happy these days!
Thanks Sonia!
LOL, check eBay! This was less than $20, I just searched “J. Crew necklaces” and found it!
I love this look, so polished and perfect for a Friday! The jeans look fab on you–a great item from the Sip & Swap! But, the necklace is what caught my eye right away, it is stunning!
Thanks Heather, it has been a long road and exciting to get back into old sizes!
They drive me batty. I have pairs from 2001 and since and they range from 8 – 14 and the 8s fit the same as the 12s! Even then, some just don’t fit right. Really a style of jean you need to try on in person and take several sizes into the fitting room!
Thanks!
You look fabulous! So slim and so smart! I adore that necklace and NEED one like it in my life!
Jeans look awesome, I am officially jealous!
My immediate thought on this picture was “those jeans look great on you”.
I love Gap Long & Lean too. I’m not sure about their sizing though – I wear a size 6, but these jeans fit me in a size 0… I was so confused when I was trying them on and I kept having to go back to find smaller ones!
Lookin’ good!
Congrats to you!
My weekend plans include grading 180 paper bag projects. But, we are also going to a hot air balloon festival, so it won’t be a total bust. I hope you and the family get to feeling better soon!
Thanks Patti!
I hate how The Gap keeps changing the fit of these jeans, but they are really flattering to so many different women’s bodies!
Thanks Kate!
LOL, thanks! A cultural arts festival sounds like fun!
Thanks Sharon!
Oh gosh Tracey, best wishes in staying healthy!
Thank you so much!
Your legs are two miles long, and the whole look is so modern and cool. Way to go, Allie!
So that’s why the big grin! You are rockin’ it, girl!
Cultural Arts Festival this weekend. Fun times.
You really do look “Long and Lean”. Love the look.
I really love this outfit. You look totally fab!
You look so great! Very slimming effect that the jeans and jacket combo has on you. Lovin’ it, keep up the great work!
You look great. Love the statement necklace. I’ll be laying low this weekend trying to avoid the “new to pre-school” cold my son has.
You look so svelte! Those jeans are fabulous on you, as is the jacket. The necklace is the final piece of pizazz. Love the whole thing!
Aw congrats! I know what that feels like. I’ve gone from a size 22 to a 16 in pants/ 14 in dresses. Can’t wait til I get to a size 10.
When I opened today’s post my first thought was how thin you looked before I even read anything ๐
