This outfit would probably look far better with my black patent peeptoe pumps, but after wearing my suede heels all last night, my tootsies cried mercy! These were my Godsend shoes after having Emerson, bought them in black and red and they are more comfortable than my sneakers. My brown croco Sofft sandals are similar, but not as utterly plush as these. These shoes are what turned me on to Sofft and made me a lifelong fan.
And speaking of last night, the DC Fashion and Beauty Bloggers meetup was very fun! There had to be 50 bloggers at Carbon, and 10 different designers there to tell us about their lines. The bags from Diamantina were utterly amazing; there were at least a half a dozen I wanted to take home with me that very evening. And it was awesome to meet Jenny from KOLTON.J who makes the most stunning jewelery – she was wearing some of her creations and they were drool-worthy! As for Carbon, it's a gorgeous boutique that showcases chic and stylish fashion which is also eco-friendly. Local designers, upcycled pieces, organic and sustainable materials, a wonderful and fashionable mix. A must-visit in DC, right across from the Woodley Park Metro stop!
I didn't take pictures with my piddly little point-and-shoot, but a lot of fellow bloggers were there with their big fancy cameras and snapped a bunch of pics – I'll share once more come available (thanks Liz at So Much to Smile About for this pic and for co-hosting the event with Lacey from a Lacey Perspective!)
I love your top, I think thats one of my favorite necklines!
so good seeing you! xoxox
Oh thanks Shen! And I adored the dress you were wearing. So good to finally meet you after following your blog for so long!
The jewel-tone colors of this outfit look great! This outfit will look just as great when fall arrives with an extra layer of a jacket or cardi. It was nice to meet you at the Carbon DC DC FABB event! I really should have taken a pic of you (and more pics in general) because I loved your outfit.
LOL these days wearing beige and tan is considered color blocking, to me it’s two colors I like together. ๐
I believe the blogging ladies would call this color blocking, but I just call it fabulous!
They are darn good subway-running shoes!
These two colors are so cool and classic together. And you know I love those Sofft subway-running shoes : >
Yay! Color is so fun to wear, and to see on others too!
I love the color blocking that you have going on – you have inspired me to try and bring more color into my wardrobe instead of sticking with boring neutrals all the time.
Aww… next time! ๐
I came to the event but super duper late. You were already gone by then. Sad I didn’t get a chance to see you guys.
Chica! You look fabulosa! I love love love this outift on you! The colors are amazing!
I know my mom will email me as soon as she gets her emailed feed of this post, she LOVES this color combo too!
Thanks Melissa!
Thanks Misty! This skirt was a great buy, I always find things to pair with it!
Oh thanks Lorena, one of my favorite color combinations!
Thanks Susan!
Ooo, love this! Great colors, and you look awesome.
Let me tell you: you look fabulous in this outfit ! Those colors make you shine !
I love these colors together! You look very polished, as usual. Your outfits always make me want to shop.
I absolutely adore the blue and purple together! SO much. You look gorgeous!
I adore this color combo!
The only problem with it is what the review on Nordstrom says – there’s a stupid zipper on the side. It has softened with wear, but it’s pointless as the shell is stretchy silk and generously sized. But otherwise, great fit, great price, great subtle detail with the pleated neckline and quite versatile!
I’ve been eyeing that shell–it looks great!
