What I Wore: And Comfort the Cambridge Tie Dress
Fall is here and I'm feeling it in my heart and my closet. I want to wear all the autumnal shades, put on wool and felt hats and wrap up in scarves and coats. And Comfort sent me their The Cambridge Tie Dress in terracotta and the color is better than sipping on a pumpkin spice latte. Made from Tencel. this dress stays cool and breathable. Switch out the self-belt for another in your wardrobe, and when the temps drop even further, style it with a lightweight turtleneck underneath (I have this one from Universal Standard and plan to do exactly this in a month or so).

In the warmer months, this dress would be great with a pair of brown leather sandals. I made it feel more fall with black. I recently got this hat from Ann Taylor during one of their 40% off sales and it fits my big noggin. It was the only thing from my order I kept! These boots are older than my daughter and on their last legs, but it's hard to find a replacement to fit my wide calves. I'm looking at these from DUO Boots, just wondering if they'll fit over my thicker ankles.
For jewelry, I felt silver and turquoise would be a nice contrast against the color of the dress. Karl bought me this bracelet when we took our family cross-country road trip and stopped in Four Corners. And these earrings you have seen many times before and will see many more in the future. I'm such a Jenny Bird fan, the quality is stellar, the style stands out and really makes an outfit!
Love the dress. Really love that dress. It looks like one you can wear year-round which I lov,e because year-round gives you more options.
I totally love this outfit. Perfect in every way in my book.
Love the color and how it looks with the blue.
The comments about the seam on the skirt caused me to go look at the skirt again. I think given that tencel is a floppy fabric that the seam is good, it gives the skirt more shape so it’s less likely to end up bunched between your legs.
I love the color on you and you look great, but if you aren’t feeling yourself in it, then that’s the bottom line.
Have you tried wideboots. com? I’ve looked at them, but not purhased anything. I got my wide legged boots at Nordstrom.
Did you mean widewidths? That URL is for sale. Widewidths also seems to be clearing out. Yep, I’ve tried alll the sites over the years, even pulled together a pretty good resource! https://www.wardrobeoxygen.com/2018/09/the-most-stylish-wide-calf-boots.html thank you, it’s been quite a search all these years!
That hat is fab-tastic! I think the earrings were a wise purchase, too.
I love these earrings I wear them all the time!
I’m not a fan of the sleeves… Something about them seems kind of sloppy? Also not loving the seam across the skirt? I’ve wanted to like “And Comfort” because goodness knows I’m all about comfort. 🙂
I agree about the sleeves and additional seam going across the skirt. The seam looks like it would inhibit a better drape. Seams add structure and stiffness, and that does look like an odd place to do that.
Great silhouette on you!
