One Cashmere Sweater Three Ways: Desk to Drinks

I'm taking this same Lord & Taylor Basic Cashmere Crewneck Sweater and styling it with pieces already in my closet for three different looks appropriate for three different holiday events.

With this look I was envisioning desk to dinner. At the office, a pair of black velvet pants won't look too out of place when paired with a black crewneck sweater and leather pumps. Likely other coworkers will also have a bit more festive of attire on if you're all heading to the company holiday party after the work day is through. I find a pair of black velvet pants so versatile and so comfy; rarely does festive or formal attire have stretch and room for that extra canapés. Pair them with a silky cami and chandelier earrings, with a crisp white shirt and ankle boots, with a sparkly blouse and pointed flats, and they're great as seen in this situation, glamming up sweaters already residing in your closet.
After work, add some glam to your look with accessories. This box clutch from Karl Lagerfeld also has a gold chain strap so you can put it on your shoulder when holding drinks and finger food at a cocktail party. This faux fur caplet adds plenty of drama and glamour to a cashmere sweater, but is also a smart choice to wear with sleeveless dresses and blouses in the colder months. This caplet has a hidden frog closure, but I decided to use an antique sweater guard designed and made by my Great Aunt for a personal touch and to have a wider neckline. Lord & Taylor has an entire holiday department this time of year, with so many great accessories to choose from.
