What I Wore: Grey and Olive
Olive green is one of those colors I don't wear often, and when I do, I don't know why I don't wear it more often. It's surprisingly flattering and so versatile. What other color looks so great with brown and black, pink and orange, black and white, turquoise and teal?
Chico's reached out and asked me to style a look on Instagram featuring the Chico's Silky Soft Shirt. Often finding shirts too long in the arms and shoulders to provide enough space for my bust, I was thrilled to see that this shirt was available in petite, and gets great reviews from curvy customers.
I loved all the autumnal colors but felt the Ambered Olive would coordinate best with my current fall wardrobe. The 3 Petite is a more tailored fit. This would be a great blouse to wear for work under jackets, on its own, tucked in or left untucked. For the weekend, you may wish to size up, and if you're petite, go with a regular for a more slouchy effect and some length to make it wearable with jeggings and leggings.
Shirt: c/o Chico's (3 Petite) | Jeans: c/o Chico's (2.5 Regular) | Necklace: c/o Chico's | Earrings: eBay | iPhone case: Bandolier | Shoes: Nine West | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
The shirt has a hint of stretch and a luxe finish that resembles sandwashed silk. However, this is super easy-care fabric that can be thrown into the washer and dryer and resists wrinkles. This shirt is untucked here, but I had worn it a previous day with the shirt tucked in and I didn't have to iron out any wrinkles before this wear.
Chico's offered a whole outfit; since my favorite grey jeans are getting worn and are also a very fitted silhouette, I decided to try their So Slimming Girlfriend jeans in Lava Wash. The color and weight of these jeans are fantastic; I recommend if you're between sizes to size down.
I got a 2.5 Regular since my ankles are thicker and too short of a jean accentuates it. I think a petite would have been better for the rise and I could have left the jeans unrolled; I also think if I did it again I'd get a 2 as these fit great in the legs but are very roomy in the waist (I am wearing a Beltaway to keep them up). If they were the right size, I think these would be a favorite this fall and winter.
I leopard is a neutral and seemed like the perfect pairing for this outfit in grey and olive.ย Some gold accessories (the choker is also a gift from Chico's and I love how it's adjustable so it can comfortably fit those of us with thicker necks) and wardrobe basics get a hint of glam for the weekend!
Chico's did not sponsor this post, only the photo I shared on Instagram. All Chico's clothing was gifted by the brand. I made the decision to write this post to share an honest review of these pieces.
Love this look! It’s an every woman look, whether you are going to a PTO meeting, working in a casual office or retired grandma (me!) who still wants to look put together!
Love the pop of leopard!

I love olive! I’ve recently been more obsessed with it than normal – have acquired olive jeans, an olive jumper (sweater), an olive hoodie and an olive jacket … Now I need a shirt too ๐
Love this look! I want that blouse!! I love olive green. I don’t usually shop at Chico’s because its out of my budget, but love the Chico’s items I’ve found in consignment shops. I will be looking for sales and coupons for sure. The leopard shoes really pop, too.
This is such a great look that any woman could easily put together, Alison! The leopard shoes add so much character, and a great blouse is not always easy to find.
Can I tell you that every time I wear my choker necklace, I think of you and your story how you broke one by sneezing??? It makes me chuckle, EVERY time!!
XOXO
