38 Colorful Sweaters for Grown Women for 2024
I love a colorful sweater in the winter. The sky is gray, the snow turns to gray slush, we're bundled up in black coats, and the world feels dreary. A colorful sweater can add brightness to our outlook and our environment. Pair with jeans for the weekend, wide-leg trousers for the office, faux leather jeans for a night out, and a sequined skirt for a holiday party. Come spring, pair with lightweight chinos and white jeans, and on breezy summer nights, throw on over a tank and denim shorts. I'm sharing the prettiest colorful sweaters for grown women I have found this season!

Below I will share not only links to each sweater, but the size range. Many of these are both misses and plus size sweaters and some also are available in other colorways.

As I mentioned in my November edition of The Laundry Pile, colorful and printed items transcend trends. Unlike solids which may look too on the nose of a certain year, you may find you wear your colorful sweaters longer in life.

While there are certain colors that are more trendy this season than others, a colorful sweater breaks the trend rules and always brings joy. I hope you liked this collection and find comfort and joy in the season and your closet!
Sadly, I didnโt find an all cotton sweater. Due to sensitive skin i cannot wear wool, or synthetics. Only cotton and bamboo.
I would be helpful if any featured sweaters included and IDโd cotton sweaters.
Loved seeing all the colors.
Thank you for this feedback, Mary! I will try to do this more often in future posts!
I love color in the winter and hate how everyone wears black and grey. It feels like a dystopian society. However, the cost of sweaters has gotten out of control. $150 dollars for a sweater essentially made of plastic? (I’m talking about you, Boden). No, thank you. The cost of clothes has increased while the quality has decreased dramatically. I want sweaters made of natural fibers, especially at that price point. If I am going to buy a synthetic sweater, then I will go to someplace like Target and pay $19.99 instead.
Awesome collection, absolutely love all the colors and patterns!
Agreed. I want 100% natural fibers: merino wool, Shetland wool, mohair, silk, minimum 2ply cashmere, 100% cotton, bamboo, Blends of natural fibers, slow fashion that lasts several years. I wonโt buy synthetic shoes, boots, belts, scarves, handbags, walletsโฆthe only clothing items where synthetics are appropriate: workout wear.
Vivian, Mary and Ann Marie, So true! Thank you. I totally agree.
Great variety of choices!
