Teal blue scoop tee from Gap, black ponte round-neck jacket from Banana Republic Outlet, Dark stretch denim “The Flirt” bootcut jeans from Old Navy, leopard peeptoe heels from BCBGirls, faux gold and tortoise shell necklaces from beach boutiques, gold hoops from Claire's, gold bangles from Ralph Lauren.
Hair is second day – I did run the iron over it again this morning to get out any kinks. No product added, tried bangs parted on the opposite side for a more shaggy look.
Makeup is Smashbox Photo Finish primer, L'Oreal True Match concealer in W4-5, philosophy The Supernatural in Beige, Cargo Matte BeachBlush in Tenerife, Body Shop Liquid Lipcolor in the bronzy brown shade (forgot at home), Body Shop's Shimmer Cubes in Warmth – peach over lid and in inner corners, chocolate in crease and along lash lines. Lashes curled, two coats of DiorShow in black and a thin line of Maybelline UltraLiner in black to get a real “false lash” sort of look. Happy Friday!
After the work I am meeting some friends at a casual restaurant/bar for a drink and some noshing, hence the use of the primer (keep me looking fabu into the evening!).
Yes, this hair looks great on you!
Thanks for the jean review. Quitting the corporate world has seriously reduced my clothing budget, so it’s nice to know there are some decent inexpensive denims out there!
Both the gold and the tortoise shell are fake. I got the necklace and matching French hook earrings for I think like $18 and the gold chain was less than $10. My favorite part about vacations at Rehoboth Beach is scouring the little shops and boutiques for jewelery deals. They always have random pieces, one of a kinds and great prices!
This is a very pretty look for you – the makeup is great!
Love your outfit and your hair! One of my favourite photos of you since I started visiting your blog!
I love your tortoise shell necklace! What is faux? The gold, the shells, or both?
Yeah, this is ironing board hair. Not quite as silky and pin-straight as with a straightener because it’s near impossible to reach your roots unless you are part of the Circe de Soleil. I sort of like the effect.
I plan on wearing the ON jeans and washing them before reviewing. When I tried them on I thought I had found $29.50 Nirvana except they were too long for anything but heels (not sure if there are lengths online but there aren’t in the store). Through the day, no gapping at the waist, felt good, didn’t dig at the stomach, fall down but after driving to dinner then driving home, at 8pm I had saggy bum (though not any worse than my Joe’s jeans).
Waiting to see what happens after they are washed and will provide a full review. And hope to write a denim post at W02 soon! Thanks for the suggestion! ๐
I like the hair too. Can we get a review on the flirt cut jeans from ON? Better yet, a whole post on Wardrobe O2 about how jeans are *supposed* to fit? I’ 5’3″ 158 lbs and find it hard to locate jeans that feel good, avoid muffin top, don’t do that weird self pleating thing in the front near the crotch but don’t wrinkle under the butt – oh, and don’t cost much. So far I really like the ON “just below the waist stretch boot cut” and their vanity sizing makes me feel good about safely getting into a 12short. Still, they wrinkle under the butt and I only recently discovered that this is undesirable via FridayPlayDate. Your wisdom on the topic?
Wow! Your hair looks great–is this the ironing board hair? I have always been too chicken to try that.
