White ribbed tank from Old Navy, black Ponte de Roma knit jacket from Banana Republic Outlet, Gap Curvy Bootcut jeans, black croco peeptoe heels from BCBGirls, black pearl necklace from my sister, two purple bead necklaces from Express – one broke so I fixed it at a shorter length. Silver cuff, natch.
Man I just love my hair when I take the time to do it. Kathleen my stylist really got it right this time (not like she's ever wrong, but this time the color and cut are really working well through the weeks and the weather). I washed and conditioned with PureOlogy, added some Jonathan Silky Dirt (pea size, emulsify in hands, twist through hair), and dried by twisting hair into rings and placing on the “fingers” of my diffuser. Let the hair sit there while flipping through the latest House & Garden. When mostly dry, let the rest air dry while taking care of of the dog's and my breakfasts. Then when it was dry and we were fed, I went back with a traditional curling iron and curled large sections and the bangs. Added a bit of Brilliant Brunette Finishing Creme to my hands and twisted around some frizzy pieces and on the bangs to keep them in place. Last minute decided to part my bangs on the opposite side. Looked far better before I got all sweaty (just an FYI – it's super hot in the DC area right now and I live in a very old house that has window A/C – no A/C in my bath or the office where I take my photographs. Usually comfortable enough getting some coolness fromt he bedroom unit, but rushing around in the AM often leaves me, as my grandmother used to say, “glistening.”
Makeup is Smashbox Photo Finish foundation primer, L'Oreal true Match foundation in C3, concealer in W4-5, Urban Decay shadow primer, Cargo Matte BeachBlush in Tenerife, Body Shop eyeshadow in Slate on lid, Soft Black in crease and along lash lines. Max Factor's Lash Perfection in Black on curled lashes. Revlon's Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Pink Afterglow.
Today switched out my daily Burberry London for Bath and Body Works' Breathe Energy spray. I really like it in the summer – very fresh and cooling.
The first thing I noticed was that your hair is looking great! Love your blog. ๐
i really like your hair, too. i always start out well with my diffuser, but then get bored too fast and never finish up very well. i think i will try your trick with resting your hair on the fingers and with the jonathan dirt….
thanks for yet another great tip!
holy sh** you’ve lost weight.
I thought i was on the wrong site

I love that dark eyeshadow on you.
Your hair really does look beautiful and I love, love , love the jacket. I am looking to buy a similar one this season…
