Labor Day has come and gone, my white jeans have been packed away (I'm old school and will wear ivory and winter white but not true white pants this late in the year), and I feel that these neon yellow cropped jeans are ready to also be packed up. Don't get me wrong, I think that neon can continue into the fall, but to have a summery fabric AND silhouette in one piece… well I just think wearing them after this week is trying too hard to hold on to the past. I won't be wearing scarves and tall boots, snuggling up to my Pumpkin Spice Latte quite yet, but I think it's time for transitional clothing. Whether I like it or not and whether or not it's hot out, it's September and fall is coming.
Any great plans for the weekend? We have another photo shoot tomorrow, and Sunday I am excited to have breakfast with my best friend. Life has been so incredibly hectic lately, I feel as though I haven't seen her in eons and friendships cannot thrive over email and texts. She recently left the law practice she worked at to go on her own and I am so excited for and proud of her for it… can't wait to toast her over some coffee and diner food! Then after that, K and I are going to see The Jesus and Mary Chain at 9:30… I wish I still had my Doc Martens from high school for that show!
So, Allie – you’re saying you would not put these jeans with the CAbi Fall 2012half-and-half jacket or any of the fall stuff? I have seen that suggestion out there, not sure if I’m going to try it or not. It is tempting. These jeans are so fun, but then again I don’t want to look like I don’t know what month it is, either!
I could totally see these go into fall with booties, a jacket, darker colors or maybe a tan or gray suede… But I true it in me and maybe it’s my coloring or the fact that cropped pants look bad on me with more substantial shoe that it just looks as though I am forcing my summer wardrobe into fall. ๐
Love this outfit! I am new to your blog… But, I must say every time I see you I think you resemble Alyssa Milano.
Oh thank you! I usually get the mom from The Middle, Roseanne, or even Melissa McCarthy (I guess all overweight women look alike because other than curves we don’t look very similar). But thank you!!
Not Roseanne – – no way, not ever, even when she was younger and thinner. I am sure whoever said that likes her, but still. UH UH! Melissa McCarthy is beautiful and a favorite of mine, but you are about half her size.
Love love love those shoes. The pants… not flattering in the least.
I agree. And that’s a comment on the pants, not you – I don’t think they’d be flattering on many people! Think it’s a combo of the thin, stretchy fabric and lighter color. I know I couldn’t wear them.
It’s funny because they actually are a very heavyweight denim and a very bright neon yellow shade. But I agree, not the best pants for me. ๐
I actually think the pants look fantastic, and I was thinking about how our eyes have adjusted to non-skinny women wearing skinny pants just fine.
Allie, does this mean you will be revising your post on “to skinny jeans or not” because I really do think you can pull it off!
Fabulous outfit Alison! Love love love!
