While fashion experts are talking all about ballerina pink for spring, what I am seeing and excited about is the influx of lilac, violet, and lavender colors this spring. I called this as a 2024 fashion trend, but retailers are always a bit behind the runways. It makes sense that this color is now hot for 2025. From almost neon bright to a soft icy shade, cool blue purples to almost a soft pink, lilac, lavender, violet, and shades of lighter purple are here to stay.

  1. I’m so happy one of my favorite colors is so popular this spring. I’m heading for London and Spain next weekend and already planned a white/black/purple capsule for the trip, but I ordered the Lands End packable raincoat to bring, too. Fingers crossed it arrives on time.

  2. Lavender/lilac are just such pretty colors. I got a Johnny collar style sweater in lavender from Talbots in late February. It’s such a nice pop of color when the weather stays cold but I’m ready for spring. And I headed for a pedicure later this week and will be getting lavender on my toes.

  3. Several of the new tops I’ve bought recently are in this color palette. It looks really great with my silver hair!

  4. I have a very light soft pink cotton blazer and I don’t know how to pair it – my burgundy blouse seems too strong a contrast, light blue not quite right. I’ve worn over black top and pants, I guess this summer I could wear it over an all white outfit. It’s ok over a white top and burgundy pants. But what else can you suggest?

    1. I think that combo sounds pretty, and maybe a belt or scarf that pulls the colors together, or even a shoe. I get how burgundy seems too strong. Some other color that can work with pale pink:
      – A different shade of pink. Darker or brighter or muted like mauve
      – Neutrals like cream, tan, khaki, olive, shades of gray (paler for spring/summer). I’ve seen a lot of pale pinks mixed with multiple neutrals like an ivory blouse and cream pants and then tan shoes and bag.
      – Warmer shades like peach, coral, terracotta, and clay. It may feel weird but if they are similar fabrics/season it can look very chic. Add gold jewelry.
