What I Wore: Autumn in the Summertime
Dress: London Times via Gwynnie Bee (similar, similar) | Bag: Hobo (similar) | Earrings: Argento Vivo (similar) | Bracelet: Gorjana | Shoes: Nine West
This is one of those dresses that works almost year round. While I wore it on a steamy workday, I could imagine it come fall or winter with opaque tights, and even with a cardigan or soft jacket, especially with this autumnal print. The fabric is great because it doesn't cling and has brilliant seaming, gathers, and folds to really flatter the figure. This summer has been extremely busy and I often have to decide whether to do something necessary like laundry or get more than a couple hours of sleep. It's a godsend to come home from a long day at work and see one of Gwynnie Bee's well-known white boxes sitting on my front step. With this dress, I didn't even have time to open the box until the morning and was thrilled to see it fit and gave me something fresh to wear to work. I sent back the dress the next day (no need to launder) in the postage-paid bag and the day after got a shipping confirmation that another piece from my virtual closet was heading my way! As for the last picture? Karl couldn't resist getting one with the backhoe in the background!

This dress is awesome on you!! I love the shape and the print and I think the lip colour you used tied in really well. If I was nitpicking I would query whether the red bag is the right shade – it’s more of a blue red and the dress is more of an orange red? (might just be the lighting) That’s my only niggle though as this dress is badass other than that.
In person I was so psyched it was a perfect match for some of the leaves but yes in the photos it doesn’t seem to match as well.
I am sorry you sent it back too. This dress is so wonderful on you. Can you ‘rent’ it again from GB, say, in October? It’s such a perfect fall dress.
Chris
That’s why I sent it back, it’s just too much for the summer. And gosh knows if my body will be the same come fall with all the transition I’ve experienced this past year. That’s the beauty of Gwynnie Bee, I can just get it again in a couple months when it’s cooler in whatever size works best!
You look great. But it is your smile and hair that make the outfit.
Aww thanks!
Ha ha…the backhoe is a great backdrop!! This dress is spot on for you! The colors are great! No black sandals to show off the tootsies? jodie

Thanks Jodie, nope don’t own any, don’t have much need for them!
Alison, you look like a bad-ass Katniss Everdeen in this dress! I hope Karl took you out for a cold drink after this photo session! ๐
Oooh thanks!!!
I cannot believe you sent this back. It’s incredibly fab on you. The colors are perfect with your hair and coloring and the fit is spot on perfect. If I looked this great in a dress, I would wear it until it fell off. ๐
LOL thank you!
You are looking GREAT! I know it’s been a tough year for you but you’re coming out of it fabulously. This dress is fantastic on you.
Thanks so much!
Saw these pictures and went straight to my GB closet to add this dress! It looks great on you.
Yay, hope you love it too!
