Like Mother, Like Daughter
Last year, I received an order from Soma for an upcoming campaign and they accidentally sent me a pajama top in size XS instead of my size. My daughter tried it on and I was surprised to find that it fit her. They sent me a replacement top in my size, and I bought my daughter the matching pants so we could “Mommy and Me” in our matching palm-print Cool Nights pajamas. This winter, Soma was kind enough to send us matching pajamas again, and we still wear them often. Her favorite pajamas by far are Soma, often wearing their Cool Nights cropped pants with a favorite t-shirt. So when Soma asked if I'd like to be part of their Mother's Day Instagram campaign with my daughter, I asked her if she would be interested and she excitedly agreed. Soma let us pick what sleepwear to wear. We took the photos this week and I just love them so much I had to share them here as well.
My daughter is wearing the Soma Cool Nights Notch Collar Pajama Top and the matching Cool Nights Crop Pajama Pants. For reference, she wears a large in Big Kids clothing, has long legs, and has already been wearing size 00 jeans in juniors brands like American Eagle. If you have a smaller little one, Soma came out with a whole family line in a similar floral with t-shirt/leggings combo in toddler and kid sizes, separates for adults, and even a matching bandana for your pet.
I am wearing this stretch satin sleep tank that has adjustable straps and the back is made from the Cool Nights fabric, and the matching shorts. It's a great set for when the temps rise; I had the same tank last summer in black and even wore it as a camisole under a suit. Both pieces are size Large. What is the showstopper is this amazing robe. What I really love is how it doesn't wrap and have a self-belt like many robes. That's so annoying when the fabric is lightweight and silky. Instead, it has a drawstring that lets you cinch the robe and either lightly knot it to leave it open or tie it as I have here to keep it closed and keep it cinched. On top of that ingenious detail, the robe also has pockets. This robe is so pretty, don't be surprised to see me wear it again with a white v-neck t-shirt or tank and a pair of jeans! I am wearing the robe in L/XL. If this print isn't your jam, it also comes in a navy floral. All Soma sleepwear comes up to size XXL.
Being at home 24/7 with my family has its ups and its downs, but I really love how it has given me time to get to know my daughter better. She is heading to middle school next year and is that age between little kid and teen and it's pretty wonderful. We enjoy one another's company and respect one another, and it's fun that she's still at an age where she thinks it's cool to twin with her mom. It's nice to now have these photos of us twinning together to remember a happy moment during this time of sheltering in place and of this age. These pajamas, this fun moment, and these photos… it's like an early Mother's Day present!

Love this post! Emerson is adorable and really growing up. I am giving my mom Cool Nights pajamas for Mother’s Day (found from your previous post with the Soma capsule wardrobe) and they are so pretty & soft. I treated myself to the black cropped pair you showed us—love them!

I know, right? Just a few weeks ago when still in school she wasn’t particularly tall compared to her classmates nor me. She has grown I think 2″ since we’ve been at home!

Emerson has grown so fast! She’s going to be tall like her dad. Though I have plenty of oversized t-shirts that I wear for sleepwear during the summer, I love sexy, silky nightwear for those special nights. This robe and jammy set look like they’ll fit one of those occasions perfectly. Now that I’m spending a little more time wearing them, I’ll be browsing the website to add to my collection.
Soma has such a great selection right now, they do make me feel pretty and sort of pulled together when I wear them!
