Merry Christmas!
While Emerson and my husband nap, I thought I would take a moment to log in and wish those of you who celebrate the holiday a very merry Christmas!
Last night we went to my sister's house – she hosts Christmas Eve dinner each year and it's always an amazing meal. This year she made Cassoulet, salad, and a trifle for dessert. Emerson opened her stocking and had a blast with a Dora puzzle and toy dinosaurs.
We started Christmas day at my mom's house where we opened presents and had breakfast of mimosas, coffee cake, bagels and lox, coffee, and fruit. Emerson got this dollhouse from us, this computer from my mom's boyfriend, and tons of goodies from her Aunt Debbie and Grandma.
Santa was good to me as well – I got this book, a red cashmere pashmina, red cashmere-lined leather gloves from Coach, some white serving dishes, and a bottle-cutting kit. Can't wait to play with that kit, make some new vases and cups from old bottles!
Tonight we are meeting up with family for dinner at a nearby Mexican restaurant – we started a restaurant Christmas dinner tradition last year and love it – no dishes to wash and margaritas!
Will have pictures in a future post, but for now I need to get in a disco nap prior to this evening's festivities!
Hope our Xmas was as fabulous as it sounded.
Merry Christmas Allie! Sounds like you got some great things… I hope you keep us posted with pics on how the bottle cutter works! They are a great idea! Can’t wait to see you wearing the red pashmina! Pretty!
Merry Christmas, Allie!
I’m back to work again (it’s Monday here), so enjoy your evening for both of us!
Oh I know how it is the first major holiday after a loved one has passed. Strength to you during this time. I hope tomorrow you get some time to decompress and remember lovely times you had with your Mum. <3
A disco nap! That sounds better than a ‘nana nap’ as well call them here. (Nana as in Grandma).
Glad to hear you’ve had a lovely day so far. Mine has been a bit sad as it’s the first one without my Mum (she died six months ago) and a bit stressful being around my husband’s family. It’s Boxing day here and I’m looking forward to a day to rebalance and rest.
Happy Christmas Allie!
Merry Christmas to you as well, Allie!
