Sorry for the missing posts – work has gotten to be extremely hectic and I am trying to keep my home time to family time as much as possible.
The appointment Friday went well – heartbeat good, my vitals are good, all progressing nicely with the little one!
Friday night we had a friend over for dinner and movies, but I crashed pretty early. Saturday we mainly putzed around at home. The weather was pretty awful (thanks Hanna) so we kept indoors, doing home stuff. Sunday was gorgeous. We started the day with breakfast and newspaper reading out on the back deck, then we headed to the farmer's market and grocery store. My husband then treated me to a much-needed pedicure. Came home and had a couple of friends over for dinner and viewing of the MTV VMAs (flipped between that and a showing of some performances from Rothbury Festival that were on another channel). Nothing too exciting, a pretty chill weekend.

Glad the check-up went well. You look fantastic but you must be getting tired… so you should definitely take days off your blog when you need, as long as you don’t stop! x
I am sorry to hear that things are so hectic for you at this tiring time of your pregnancy! I would like to thank you for keeping posting when you can, it is always great to read your posts!
Thanks so much! I would say my makeup takes less than 10 minutes to do, and 10 minutes is when I do something such as a smokey eye or a more complicated look. Best tip I ever learned was to invest in great brushes so application is a breeze. I have some MAC, but especially love my trish McEvoy brushes that are a decade old and still give the perfect blush and eye shadow look. I did a smokey eye tutorial here and show my arsenal of products (recently pared down even more) here.
I really only have two looks – liquid liner with more defined lip, and shadowed eye with gloss. The only difference is I change the colors. With shadow, I use a large fluffy shadow brush to apply light color from lash line to brow bone. A contour brush is used to take a darker color in the crease, a smaller brush takes that same color along both lash lines. Occasionally I use a q-tip or a clean brush to blend. With the liquid liner look, it’s that same big fluffy shadow brush giving a wash of color, and then a liquid line, starting center of the eye out to edges, then go back to fill in closer to the nose. Mascara goes on before liquid liner. ๐
Allie, You look gorgeous today. I love the black dress and your makeup looks so nice. I wish that you would do an eyeshadow tutorial, or something like it. Also, that lipstick looks great on you. I’m in my 40’s, and I have never found a lipstick that I can say I really loved. How long does your makeup application take?
I like that dress a lot. You don’t owe any apologies because you dont have to update your blog at all but it is so much fun to read so thanks for taking the time to do so!
Have a great week,
-Grace
