Happy 2012 everyone! Back to work, and back to true winter weather! Boy today is cold, but it's nice to be able to wear the red cashmere pashmina and matching red cashmere-lined leather gloves from Coach that my sister got me for Christmas!
SWEET!!! I hope it works for you! I know I got it when it was like $50 or so, your deal is phenomenal!!
Hi, I’ve been following your blog for about a year. I too was finding my style after my daughter was born. I feel like I started hitting my stride when A. was around 3. Anyway, I wanted to say that I remember a previous post when you wore this skirt: I liked it and went to the AT site, but when I saw it was $118, I passed. Well, when I saw *this* post, I went to AT’s website out of curiosity, and the skirt was marked down to $39.88!! And another 40% off at checkout! But they only had sz 6 left (I wear an 8); I ordered it anyway and hope I can make it work!
This parka ROCKS. Fleece pockets, wristbands to keep out cold, super thick, super warm. Only negative is the hood is big and when worn I can’t see very well, but it keeps the wind off my face! The fur is removable for washing, I have washed mine a few times and held up great. No complaints!
Looking sassafrass as usual! I am loving that parka – it’s on sale right now at Lands End! Think it would stand up in Maine? I’m so cold I want to crawl under the bed and stay there till the thaw….
Thank you!
I love this mix of patterns! And what a pretty necklace!
Thank you!
Stripes and animal print, that is ROCKING!
Check out overstock.com – I know before Christmas they had brightly-colored cashmere lined leather gloves for around $35!
Monochrome & leopard gets a thumbs up from me!
Also, the gloves & scarf look so warm and toasty!! I’ve been searching for a pair of jewel-toned leather gloves but can’t quite afford a pair at present. Great accent colour against the coat.
Oh thank you so much Della! You made my day ๐
The number of fashion bloggers I follow is ever-decreasing, for a number of reasons. Namely that few seem to live in the real world, or my world anyway. I just wanted to say you’re a breath of fresh air in a sometimes stuffy and self-important sphere. I adore dropping by your blog. Don’t change.
Can’t have enough leopard!
Fab skirt! I want a leopard skirt or dress – will have to search eBay for one.
Thanks Ana! And yep, Disqus is pretty cool, you can sign in with most any login you use on the web (or stay anonymous too). Very handy!
Thanks Rosa!
Yep, it’s a pretty puffy one, and so warm! Yesterday it was in the 20s in DC so very much needed!
For my wardrobe, I started with shoes because it’s easy to incorporate with solid colors I already owned (and love leopard with denim!). While I have a leopard print cardigan I hardly wear it because it seems too harsh, yet leopard skirts get a lot of wear from me. It really depends on what you already own and which piece will complement your current wardrobe. ๐
I just figured out I can sign in with Twitter. Yay!
Love this outfit ๐ Very difficult to look cute and feminine when the temperatures drop below zero. This outfit definitely goes into my inspiration file, the skirt is perfection.
Ah that necklace is fabulous!
I love the mix of stripes and animal print!! Hope you had a great new year!
Love this look, mixing the two patterns and that AT necklace is stunning! YOU look absolutely gorgeous. Have to admit I was taken a back with the jacket for a second… only because here in Florida I never see things like that! ๐
Happy New Year! I, too, am a fan of the brown with red accents. Every time you wear that skirt, I realize how I need something else leopard print in my wardrobe. The question is–what will get more use? A leopard print blouse, shoes, or skirt?
Thanks so much Frances! Happy New Year to you as well!
Love the look, adore the skirt, you look great Allie! Happy New Year!
Thank you Christine!
Thanks Terri!
Thanks Tiffany, and happy new year to you too!
I understood… and it was tempting to pair the set with my black coat but I think it pops more with the brown!
Thanks so much Patti!
Thanks so much, and welcome!
Oh no, no one is a lost cause! It’s a slow process to find your personal style – I am still working on finding mine after having my daughter! But it is a fun journey getting to know myself better through fashion! Everyone’s style is different, but everyone has style!
You look wonderful Allie! From the pictures I’ve seen so far you always look wonderful. Now, what you’re wearing today I could never get away with but on you it’s fabulous. I think that you are the True Fashionista. and I am a Lost Cause.
I just found your blog and love it! This stripe and leopard combo is fantastic! Have a great day.
Those gloves look so warm and fabulous! Your whole outfit is pretty and modern – stay warm today!
whoops – i meant the red and black combo one generally sees on people, not on you in particular (i realize that may not have come across in my original comment)
Love the brown coat and red gloves/scarf – such a nice change to the usual black and red combo – bet they’re really warm too!
You look great, Allie! Happy New Year!
I love the contrast of the stripes with the leopard!
Oooh, stripes and leopard! A killer combo! And I love the chunky jewels on the necklace! Happy new year!
