Black leather skirt – Ann Taylor LOFT via eBay
Silk Scarf as cummerbund – H&M
Gold bracelet – J. Crew via eBay

I saw this leather skirt this past fall at LOFT and HAD to have it.  They didn't have my size so I ordered a 14 online.  It was too large, and by time I went to exchange the skirt was out of stock.  When I saw it new, never worn on eBay in a size 12 I rushed for it.  Yeah, this is a bit too big, and I think will be far too large in five pounds.  The cummerbund is an attempt to make it look as though it fits, by cinching it in.  A large belt wasn't enough because it made the leather skirt balloon out below the belt.  A shame because this skirt is pretty darn fantastic – flattering length, fully lined, really soft leather, and POCKETS!  I am now on the search for this skirt in a 10.

  1. Work appropriate with attitude is so hard to do, and you’ve absolutely got it right.

In a few years time, I can imagine Emerson asking if you’ve kept that skirt (or its new little sister) in storage for her. She’s going to have so much fun looking through your blog.

  2. Fantastic skirt Allie! I’m glad to see you wearing a leather skirt. I have a leather skirt (similar style and length, a little tighter perhaps) but I have been too afraid to wear it. I think now I will try! Any tips for wearing a leather skirt without looking … hoochie? You’ve done a marvelous job. =)
