Summer of Color
We just spent a year inside where designers decided we wanted to wear shades of beige and baby food. But now with a new season and parts of the country opening up, color is returning without sacrificing the comfort we found in those oatmeal and clay-colored sweatsuits. A few things that have caught my eye:
a packable and washable sun hat (three colors available) | comfort and a very modern silhouette for sandals in a sunny yellow | a colorful beaded necklace that will not only go with, but brighten all your summer outfits | a subtle switch in shape for sunglasses (two colors available) | a summery straw crossbody with a pop of color (two colors to choose from) | a drapey maxi dress with pockets (three colors, sizes 00-40) | a crisp shirtdress with just the right amount of stretch (sizes 0-14) | comfy but not boring slides made from recycled plastic (three other colors available) | the perfect denim shorts for grown-ass women (sizes 0-22) | a sling bag with brilliant storage that is made from recycled water bottles (three colors to choose from) | the tile-style of bracelets that are on trend right now, in a very elegant combo of colors and gold
Thank you! I donโt know if you follow Tressie McMillan Cottom on Twitter (she is a genius, certified by MacArthur even- a sociologist – I think you would love her, Alison), but she keeps saying that all thatโs available in stores is Garanimals ๐ ๐ I know thereโs a huge turnaround time in fashion, but finding fun pieces has been a challenge!
I ordered that dress last week, in deep blue. Iโm so ready for swish and color!
