D 120306 038D 120306 039The day started with a Christening for our friend's son and my husband is the Godfather.

Black dress with lime and turquoise pattern of matte jersey from London Times. Black round toe pumps from Jessica Simpson. White gold chain with turquoise glass disc from Italy, silver hoops and cuff bracelet. I took my turquoise pashmina for a cover as that it was a pretty warm spring day.

Hair was allowed to air dry with the Frizz Ease Dream Curls in it while I was at my morning yoga session. I then hit a few pieces with the curling iron and set with Sebastian Shaper hair spray.

Makeup is L'Oreal True Match foundation in C3, Smashbox Soft Lights in Tint on the apples of the cheeks, eyes is the Revlon ColorStay shadow quad in Neutral Khakis – ivory in inner corners and along brow bone, khaki on lid, chocolate in crease and along lash lines. D 120306 040D 120306 041After the Christening, there was a casual cookout at the parents' house. Our house was on the way, so we stopped by for a quick change as that we wouldn't be back home until late. Gray tank from Old Navy, brown striped v-neck top from Old Navy, my Gap Outlet patch-pocket dark jeans, brown stacked flops from J. Crew, silver pocket watch necklace from Ann Taylor Loft, silver chain from an Renaissance Festival booth, my silver hoops and cuff bracelet.

Makeup and hair were left the same.

After the cookout we had Book Club and headed right there. I think you can tell by the outdoors picture that though the weather was gorgeous, I was tuckered out from such a busy day.

  1. I am 5’3″, I usually buy regular tops because they seem to not make XL petite often, and a L petite is smaller than a regular L. I also like that it usually hangs a bit lower on the hips. For tops, I usually only buy petite for tailored shirts and jackets; knits I just hike up to my elbows ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I’ve been following your blog for a while now and have learned a lot about what I should be looking for when I shop. I seem to remember that you mentioned being petite. Can I ask how tall you are? I’m interested because I’m 5’1 and a similar build to you. Your clothes look like they fit you so well even in the sleeve length. I’ve noticed that you wear a lot of J. Crew and Banana Republic tops…are they usually petite?

Love the turquoise on you BTW.

  3. I LOVE that Turqouise Glass Disc necklace. What a fantastic idea for a simple, yet striking necklace.

I’m going to head down to a beadery shop and look for a fab piece like that to string on a silver chain (of which I have plenty of).
