My latest Gwynnie Bee box arrived last night and I couldn't be more excited. I have a dinner date with some fellow fabulous DC bloggers tonight and had no clue what I was going to wear. Gwynnie Bee to the rescue with this comfortable, lightweight, WASHABLE dress! I love dresses like this which are perfect year-round. In summer it would be adorable with flat sandals, in winter with tights and even with a blazer for the office! I decided to dress up the silk-like fabric with bold gold accents.

My Picks on Gwynnie Bee
As I have mentioned before, Gwynnie Bee is like Netflix for fashion from sizes 10 and up – keep an item as long as you like, return for new pieces as often as desired, free shipping and returns. I have been using it since September (all Gwynnie Bee outfits can be seen here) and am so impressed with the quality of the brands they work with, the speed of shipments, and the care the whole company has for their customers.ย  ย

Gwynnie Bee is now showcasing my favorite pieces from their collection on their site, my own little curated collection!ย  All pieces in my collection are ones I like and recommend.ย  Almost all I have worn, and any that I have worn will also have reviews on the Gwynnie Bee site.ย  This collection will continue to be updated with my picks.ย  Unfortunately you can't see my collection unless you are subscribed to Gwynnie Bee – heck, all the more reason to try them out!

Note: I do receive a commission on all who sign up for Gwynnie Bee and stay with them past the 30-day trial.ย  However, I write about them so much because I truly believe in this company and what they offer to plus size and cusp-sized women.ย  Anything I write I write from my heart with full honesty.

  1. You are ultra sexy and would love to include you in my portfolio sometime. I am an artist and think you look great.

  2. I saw a sneak peak of this fabric in your picture on instagram and just had to see the dress. Absolutely gorgeous, and I love it with those shoes!

  3. Not related to Gwynnie Bee but … I love that you wear red lipstick to work (and that one is really flattering) but how do you manage to keep it looking good all day? I have a gorgeous Chanel lipstick that I love and which is really flattering, but I also work a 12 hour day every day (finance job) and don’t know how to maintain it without a) running to the toilet all the time to check it/do touchups (not really appropriate to do at my desk) or b) not eating or drinking all day (I’m not trying that one, I would keel over)! Any recommendations? At the moment I just use a slick of lip balm which I can do with my eyes shut but it would be nice to look extra-polished on big days at the office, without ending up with the dreaded red ring around lips or smeared marks!

    1. Usually I carry it in my pocket so each time I go to the bathroom I can touch up, I have Philosophy’s The Supernatural mineral foundation at my desk and the cap had a mirror so I use that for touch ups. Also this is a crayon (Revlon just bitten kissable balm stain) which is far easier to reapply blind ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Hi Alison,

Maybe I missed some of the Gwynnie Bee talk before. How many items do you personally get a month to try out? Can you change your amount monthly? If you like something and decide to keep it, does any of your monthly membership go toward that piece? Are all of the pieces previously worn by someone else? I can’t seem to locate any of this information on their site.

    1. Good questions Robin! I wrote a bit about Gwynnie Bee here: https://www.wardrobeoxygen.com/2012/08/gwynnie-bee-clothing-without-commitment.htmlbut here’s some more details.

When you sign up you pick a program (I think they go up to 5 items at a time). Like Netflix, you can return one or all at any time, with a total of up to 5 pieces in your possession. How many pieces at a time you determines your monthly fee. I would think you could change your subscription at any time, I know that Gwynnie Bee has been phenomenal at replying to Tweets, Facebook questions, and emails. As for pieces previously worn, the answer is yes. Gwynnie Bee cleans and sterilizes each piece once they get it back, whether or not it seems clean. They also remove any pieces from rotation that are damaged in any way. I have been getting Gwynnie Bee boxes since August or September and each piece looks as though it is brand new, smells only like fabric, is crisp and pristine looking. Each piece comes with a hang tag where it provides laundering instructions in case you wish to wear more than once, and a feedback form which helps them know what to keep in rotation and what isn’t as successful. You can’t keep a piece, but I bet Gwynnie Bee would help you find out where to purchase a piece for yourself, and you can keep a piece as long as you like. Hope that helps and don’t hesitate to ask any more questions! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Love the print and cut of the dress. A real show stopper! Have a fun night with fellow bloggers!
