Tuesday
Another gorgeous day in our Nation's Capital! Wearing short sleeves and almost didn't need a coat!
Black tape-yarn empire-waist sweater tee from Old Navy, Curvy denim trousers from Gap (new from holiday gift card), black city boots from Impo, two silver necklaces from H&M (one knotted at back of neck to adjust length), silver hoops and cuff.
Hair was washed but not conditioned, a touch of Jonathan Silky Dirt while wet and dried straight with paddle brush, then round brush for smoothing bangs and ends.
Makeup is L'Oreal True Match concealer in W1-3, philosophy The Supernatural in Beige, Cargo Matte BeachBlush in Tenerife, Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Glossy Rose, Revlon ColorStay shadow quad in Neutral Khakis – ivory in corners, khaki on lid, chocolate in crease and along lash lines. Cover Girl Lash Blast in black on curled lashes.
And this is my coat today – it's a red suede coat from Mossimo for Target that I got two years ago – satin acetate lining but no padding/warmth. Good for days like today. I must admit, I used a seam ripper to remove the “Mossimo” tag inside. My mom got the same coat in brown.
Haha, love the honesty! I won’t wear any clothes with logos on them for the same reason – I don’t want to advertise for anyone! (I found a cute pair of Tommy Hilfiger denim trousers marked down to $40 at Macy’s and removed the tiny american flag near the pocket for exactly this reason!)
I’ll have to give Pureology a try one of these days.
I use pureology which is very good to my hair. Also on my conditioner-free days I use very little shampoo and target it right at the roots and don’t wash the rest of the head.
As for the tag… it was a hanking 4″x4″ tag int he center of the coat so if I put it over a chair or anything it was MOSSIMO and really, I’m not cool with advertising any brand to that extend, let alone one from Target! ๐
Hair looks great – how can you get away with no conditioner given the blow drying/curling iron/ flat iron useage? Is your shampoo super moisturizing – just curious!
Why the removal of the Mossimo tag? Itchy? When I first started buying things at Target I didn’t want to admit they were from Target, but I never resorted to a seam ripper to remove the evidence. =)
Anyhoo – looking gorgeous, especially in the close-up photo! Meow!
I have been hit or miss with Gap’s denim trousers. First pair I bought October 2006 were awesome, but faded and got soft very quickly, even without the dryer. Then I got the pair that wouldn’t stay snapped. I bought these betting I would have to return them, but they felt great all day, didn’t stretch out. Not sure the % of lycra, 8% seems high considering the way they felt. I would have guessed more like 3%.
I recently purchased the curvy jeans from the gap (not the trousers), and they are wonderful. I went back for a second pair because I have such a hard time finding pants that don’t gap in the waist. They seem really sturdy and haven’t been stretching out.
I think these are the exact jeans I bought at Gap and had to return because they stretched out so badly after only a few hours. Are they th 8% spandex ones? How did you keep them from stretching? They look great on you!
Your hair is especially cute today!
You so make me want to find some long necklaces. I haven’t managed to find any yet. I am hoping my trip to Ann Taylor Loft, today, might lead to a fulfillment of this longing.
you look beautiful.
Love the coat and your hair looks great!
I found your blogs last night and they are great. I’ve never taken interest in blogs before, the ones I’ve visited have been boring. Both of yours are interesting — kudos! I love your writing on Wardrobe Oxygen.
Your jeans outfit looks great. I was checking out your photos yesterday and I noticed how the skirt outfits are really nice compared to most of the pants outfits -(skirts are wonderful, I should actually think of giving them more attention because I live in pants)…….. but I love this jeans outfit in today’s photo.
Anyway, I’m hooked on your sites. You’re doing a great job!
