Allie 105Allie 106What a difference a day makes! Look, I am HUMAN again! A bit browner, a bit slimmer (thank you Bonnaroo for making me walk so much!), tons more freckles, but back to Corporate Allie.

When I got home last night I saw the retail gods were shining down on me, leaving a package of $14.99 cotton sweaters from the Banana Republic sale, and jeans and fabu shoes from the Nordstrom sale. Good thing since I didn't feel like doing laundry!

Black cotton v-neck sweater from Banana Republic, stretch “Provocateur” jeans from Joe's Jeans, black snakeskin peeptoe heels from BCBGirls, silver hoops from The Icing, silver bracelet.

Hair was washed and conditioned the night before, a bit of BioSilk added while wet and allowed to air dry while sleeping. This morning a few bed-head pieces were tamed with a curling iron.

Makeup is Body Shop bronzing powder in Light at a powder, Smashbox Soft Lights in tint on the apples of my cheeks, Revlon ColorStay shadow quad in Neutral Khakis – khaki on lid, olive in crease and along lash lines. lashes curled and Max Factor's Lash Perfection in black applied. On lips is Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Shine That Pink. Few spritzes of Burberry London so I feel more like a girly girl and less like the dirty hippie I was 24 hours prior.

  1. Over here in the Netherlands there is a spray-on deodorant called SyNeo5. Don’t know if it’s for sale in the US, but it works perfecly. I hated those underarm stains – they even (indirectly – I was so unsure of myself) cost me my job as manager… So to anyone who’s still suffering: please don’t wait any longer; go out and buy the stuff.

  2. As Bobbi said, you apply it at night. It is a roll-on and has no scent at all. I keep it on my nightstand with my night cream so i don’t forget, but am to the point that if i forget a day or two it’s no big deal.

They also carry a daytime version, but i use regular deodorant during the day time as extra protection.

  3. I actually use Certain-Dri as well and love it!!! I used to have a persperation problem which led to me to always wear black…always! It was the only color that I could wear so people wouldn’t see that my underarms were soaked! It caused me to have self-esteem issues and lots of emabarassment. I have been using Certain-Dri for nearly three years now and never have persperation stains or wet underarms anymore. It’s over-the-counter yet perscription strength…you only put it on before you go to bed at night…I actually only need to apply about once a month now, but needed to do it every night at first and then every other night…now I just put it on when I can tell that the effects have worn off. It basically closes the pores in that area so that persperation can’t get through…I still have to wear deoderant though as for me it doesn’t stop odor.

I highly recommend it if you have embarissing stains and wetness under your arms.

  4. They were on sale ๐Ÿ™‚

Really, I wanted a nice pair of jeans – I haven’t had much luck with my old standby of Gap. I have ordered and tried on at Banana Republic and J. Crew and even the size 14 is too small for me. I tried Paige Premium Denim because I heard a lot of celebs like them because they are forgiving. Didn’t work for me.

So these were on sale with Nordstrom and I heard about them and they went larger than a size 10 so I figured I would try. They are stretchy, fit well, have cool pockets without being too fancy and elaborate and I like the white crease down the front. Still expensive, but considering I haven’t bought jeans in a very long time and wear them often, I figure it’s okay.

  5. Hi,
I’ve been reading your blog for awhile and I love reading it b/c we have similiar tastes (budgets!) and size.
I noticed that you said you have Joe’s Jeans. I haven’t made the designer denim jump – a. Because I’m really afraid of the fit b. because of the price – how did you pick those particular ones?
