My friend Emily shared a dress she got from an ARRANGE x ASOS collab that offered misses and plus sizes. The piece was so unique yet wearable that I had to check the collection out.

I haven't looked at ASOS in a long while; I used to shop there for the random cool thing to pull wardrobe basics together but PostPan it has all been junky juniors fast fashion. I decided to scroll through the New Arrivals and yep, junk, juniors, junk… then something caught my eye.

ARRANGE Curve satin side drape off shoulder maxi dress in bright blue

This dressโ€”and guess whatโ€”was from the ARRANGE x ASOS collection Emily shopped! The color! The architecture! It's available in plus sizes only and is $169. It could use a good steaming to elevate the fabric, but it looks like a winner.

  • Imagine it as a mother of the married dress, with some silver shoes like these and this clutch
  • Imagine is for a spring gala, and use other spriny colors like orchid, apple green, mango, barbie pink, and yellow. Some artsy earrings like these and this bag and a bold lip!
  • Imagine it as a wedding guest, with flat gold sandals and some cool earrings like this and this bag.

I kept going, and each time something caught my eye, it was from this collaboration. Pieces that were unique but wearable, transcended trends but were far from boring, and things I could see a 22-year-old or a 62-year-old wear comfortably.

ARRANGE satin oversized t-shirt and pants set in black and white abstract print

Like this satin tee and pants set:

  • The pants have a proper waistband with belt loops. Tuck in the top and add a belt. Go casual with black leather with shiny hardware. Or glam it up with a metal belt (I have a belt like this I got at ASOS like a decade ago), or even a scarf in a different ivory and black print!
  • Wear the tee untucked and slouchy cool. Go ahead and add chunky black fisherman sandals, or Birkenstocks in black or ivory or a fun color.
  • Be unexpected and add brown leather shoes, bag, and belt and wood bangle bracelets.
  • Glam it up for a social occasion with gold sandals and lots of gold jewelry.

And this dress… it's like Phyllis Diller meets Nicole Kidman and I love the drama and how you can wear any darn underpinning (or lack thereof) you desire. Here is the same dress in Misses sizes. Again, mother of the married, formal wedding, gala event…

  • This dress does beg for a delicate shoe, a metallic or something very close to your skintone
  • I'd keep makeup pretty subtle; if you want drama you could do a soft smoky eye in a darker version of one of the colors in the dress
  • I'd keep accessories also pretty light, maybe these earrings and this bag.

Some other items that caught my eye:

  • This denim skirt. In the summer with a simple fitted tee or tank and Birkenstocks or some trendy sneakers
  • For those down with the no bra, the boob tape, or the other gadgets, this halter top is awesome. Next night on the town, rock it with black dressy cigarette pants, silk harem-style pants, wide-leg trousers, or a great pair of jeans. Also this color works great with bold colors like vermillion and pink and cobalt blue.
  • Gotta love your gams for this dress, but I think it's so cool and unexpected and petite-person friendly.
  • This midi t-shirt dress is super basic, but it looks more designer basic than picked up on a trip to Walmart basic yet it's only $65. Here is the link to plus sizes.
  • Tops like this make basic white jeans and sandals look chic AF even when utucked. Also would be good tucked into denim trousers or wide-leg linen pants. It says it's machine washable…
  • I'm not sure if this dress is awesome or hideous, but I see it with black boots or quirky flats or sandals and bold metal jewelry in an art gallery owner kind of way.

I cannot guarantee the quality or construction of these pieces from ARRANGE, it is ASOS after all, but maybe it's more like the ASOS I bought PrePan that may not be high quality but be that statement item that pulls everything else together and is a closet favorite for years to come.
