What I Wore: Statement Sweater
Sweater: MICHAEL Michael Kors | Twill Jeans: NYDJ | Boots: Ros Hommerson | Bag: Isabella Fiore via MYHABIT | Necklace: c/o Stella & Dot (similar) | Bracelet: Rebecca Minkoff (similar) | Ring: Vintage via Etsy (similar) | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
I shared this MICHAEL Michael Kors ponch sweater and my love for it last week on Instagram. And when I wore it everyone I bumped into also shared their love for the sweater. Strangers, coworkers, even Karl remarked on how pretty and cozy it looked. It doesn't do a damn for my figure but sometimes a piece makes such a statement and is so clearly cozy and awesome it just doesn't matter!

This sweater is also available in Navy(very dark almost black)/white! I bought both the gray and navy on clearance at Nordstrom Rack $70 each! Use their finder app and enter either barcode 888235911472 888236911427 to see if there is availability.
Thank you for featuring the sweater, its beautiful, comfy and stylish. I love it and get tons of compliments.
Thank you for this! They’re not online as far as I can tell but it’s worth a trip to one of their stores!
I think it is flattering on you, actually, with the pants and boots you’re wearing with it. I’d buy it myself if it was cheaper!
You look great! This sweater looks fabulous on you- I love the chunky sweater/poncho vibe. This outfit hit the perfect balance between cozy, chic & comfortable.
Darn my wool allergy!! I would love to buy this sweater and copy this outfit.
Thanks Cathryn! And this poncho look is quite popular this season I bet you can find similar that is wool-free! ๐
Agree with the others – the overall effect is very pretty and incredibly flattering — and I love how it makes the red lipstick and nails really pop. I’m realizing more and more in my own wardrobe that flowy is often more flattering than fitted – – does not mean drowning in fabric, just overall a bit more movement and texture.
Agreed, I feel more comfortable and think I look better with a bit of flow.
Girl I love your attitude!!!

Thank you!
I love the looks of these types of sweaters – just waiting for the weather to cool down so I can wear a similar poncho I bought. I think it does look great on you paired with the skinny jeans and boots – it’s the perfect balance of loose/fitted clothes.

Thanks Alice!
I disagree regarding the figure flattery of the sweater. I think the drape is gorgeous on you. I checked the link and wouldn’t have considered it based on the model pic but liked it enough on you to check it out and I am on a shopping moratorium.
Thanks Cheryl!
Hey! I happen to think it looks great on you!
Thanks Aimee!
Your hair looks awesome. Love the sweater too.
Thank you!
That is a gorgeous sweater/poncho! It looks fantastic on you, flattering in both color and style. And I agree with the others who said you do it more justice than the model.
Thanks Karen!
I’ve been looking for something like this for a long time! And yes, it’s definitely flattering…soft, warm – and the long necklace definitely sets it off.
Thanks Jacquelyn!
I think you look fantastic! I think it is very flattering and so looks like you should have snow in the background while you pose next to a fire with a warm beverage (thinking Irish coffee) in your hand.
I may have to check out a cozy sweater like that – I think I’ve fantasized it into my wardrobe.
Mmm Irish coffee! ๐
Are you kidding? You look fabulous! Such panache! I immediately hopped over to Nordstrom’s website to see whether they have that sweater in my normal size. They don’t, but I may try it out anyway. Or see whether I can finagle a way to knit something similar.
Thanks Barbara and yes you should knit one!
You look great, I see why everyone was complimenting you! Somehow that colour really suits you, though it isn’t one I would have chosen for you. The weather has certainly turned over here in the UK so I’m suddenly into jumpers (sweaters) and my winter coat.
I normally don’t wear gray because it makes me look a bit gray, but I think this one works because it’s so light and soft. Also doesn’t hurt to add a bold lip!
I agree with other posters. The sweater looks better on you than on the model. I love this sweater and how it looks on you. My weakness is sweaters and I would like to have this one, but the price is holding me back.
Chris
Thanks Chris! Yeah, it’s not cheap, but at least I feel the quality equals the price, I don’t feel I’m just paying for a name or a trend. Keep watching, you never know the sale may increase! ๐
I love this outfit, the photos, and that dark lip. You look awesome!
Thanks Erin!
Love these types of sweaters…..so lovely and cozy for sure!
I’m ready for winter now!
Love this MK sweater …. may have to purchase … did you find it ran large? Or TTS? Thanks! Btw it looks great and chic on you!
This is the Large, which is what I wear in most brands. It’s a very… voluminous sweater but it’s supposed to be. If I went smaller I think it would be shorter than I’d like and too tight in the neck. But it’s something that I can wear if I gain a size or lose a size. Sometimes with MMK I am an XL, but this a Large was perfect!
I love that sweater! I looked at your link and there are reviews on the Nordstrom page. Both reviewers called it itchy. Do you wear something under it or do you not find it so itchy?
If it’s super warm, the neck can be a touch itchy, but it doesn’t bother me unless I get overheated. The rest of it I find to be cozy soft. I wear a tank or tee under it, but haven’t felt the need for long sleeves because I don’t find the sleeves itchy even on my scar or wrists. No more itchy than any other wool sweater. Also I stretched out the neck a bit which you can see in the photo, so it’s not right up against my neck and chin. ๐
I absolutely adore that sweater! I saw it when you posted it on Facebook. I’d love to get it, but can’t justify another $100+ sweater in my collection of grey sweaters. But you are really rocking it!
I don’t have any gray sweaters so I feel better about the purchase, and also got it on the semi-sale (still $100) price. It would be nice if it came in more colors!
Well, I think the sweater looks great on you and the total look is fabulous! I was not at all impressed with the sweater on the Nordstrom model, but on you a totally different story.
Thanks Denise! Proof that sometimes clothes do look better on a gal with curves or softness! ๐
Absolutely!! I want one because I saw it on you in real life.
I love big, chunky sweaters! I tend to like my tops loose and my pants tight. haha Yours looks great on you!
Thanks so much Erin!
I really want that sweater now! And for what it’s worth, I think it’s very flattering with the skinny jean/boot combo. You look fabulous!
Thanks Jenny!
I’d say this sweater both make you smile because you love it and draws attention up to your gorgeous face. If that’s not flattering, then I don’t know what is!
Aww thanks Sarah!!
