What I Wore: Primary Colors
Tee: Lands' End (similar which is available in plus and petite) (Medium) | Skirt: c/o Talbots (14) | Bandana: Had since I was a kid (similar) | Watch: c/o Larsson & Jennings | Shoes: Nine West (similar, lower heel option) | Bag: c/o Dagne Dover
I wore this skirt with a denim shirt and these leopard shoes to a Talbots event at Tyson's Corner Center that I hosted earlier this month. This skirt is pretty fabulous; it looks vintage, has a great fit, fully lined, pockets and keeps its shape all day; it survived a work day at the desk then several hours at the mall running around the store and fitting room.ย I wore this look last week to the office and loved the mix of primary colors. I know I'll be wearing this skirt this winter with thick tights and a cashmere or merino turtleneck. This citron color looks great with neutrals, but imagine it with forest green, burgundy, or purple.ย The skirt also comes in many other colors, it was hard to decide which one to get but I chose this one because it's a color I love but doesn't look good near my face.ย Gotta love shoes and skirts for incorporating fun colors without looking like I have the flu!

Hi Alison, another question for you & the rest of the readers: can you suggest an animal print shoe of good quality that’s not hair calf? I am ok with it being leather but am (perhaps foolishly) squeamish about the other. Many thanks!
It does sound pretty awful, but essentially hair calf, calf hair, pony hair (which isn’t really from ponies) is the opposite side of leather. http://www.snobessentials.com/2008/10/what_is_ponyhair_haircalf_calf.html As for a leather alternative, check out the “Claudette” from Jessica Simpson http://rstyle.me/~cz-6JzTA_.
Love this outfit! I wish I had more of a reason to wear (and buy) skirts as cute as this to pair with all of my striped tops!
Woooo! Absolutely darrrrrling outfit. I don’t know how you keep doing it but doggon’ girl, you still got it!
Love, love, love this!!!! You look ready to rule the world!! jodie

Thanks Jodie!
I have a yellow skirt (mine is a summer skirt) for precisely that reason. No colour looks more vile next to my face. I think that is true for a vast number of fair skinned people. And then you can build so many colour combos around it.
Exactly!
Love this look so cute!
Thank you!
Great outfit! For reference can you tell what size you wore? I’m looking online and its hard to know regular/petite for a cut like that.
The skirt is a 14 regular, whoops forgot to add that!
Thanks!!
This outfit just makes me want to say “tres chic!” You’ve got a lot of presence with this outfit yet it is very simple and uncomplicated. Winning combination.
Thanks Karen!
Tres francais et elegant!
Merci!
I love this look on you–you look cute, happy and chic. And I meant to comment earlier, your lipstick game is really sharp! I am sort of afraid of lipstick (makeup in general is a little intimidating) but you have found some great colors for yourself and they really add some punch!
Thank you!
