Sure I love to dress up in heels and dresses, but on weekends you're more likely to find me dressed like this. We live walking distance from this lake and often head over for a walk around the perimeter and the occasional picnic. These Bogs boots were given to me as part of a sponsored post and have become a wardrobe essential come fall. They're waterproof, warm, and comfortable. I got this jacket as part of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale; waterproof (with a hood hidden in the collar), long enough to keep my back dry when I sit on a bench, and an on-trend color and silhouette. It too has been an essential as the weather has become wetter, colder, and more windy.ย  It was perfect this day as it began to rain minutes after we finished taking pictures!

Today was an early morning so the pictures are meh, the makeup is meh, the outfit and makeup are pretty basic. My shoes were downstairs – I didn’t want to put them on upstairs and possibly wake my husband (poor guy was still asleep when I took this pic – you can even see Ruckus still…

  1. I like your curly hair!! This is a totally random point but can you post a little bit of text before the jump so it’s obvious that there’s more to read? It just makes it so much easier to see the link to the full post as sometimes it gets lost in the carousel of items!

  2. Love that jacket — been looking for something along those lines. Did you get it in petite or regular? I am 5’3″ and I thought i remembered you were about the same height. Thanks!

    1. I originally ordered it in XLP and the order went through but then a few days later Nordstrom emailed to say the order couldn’t be fulfilled. The olive was not available in XLP but I wanted to take advantage of the Anniversary Sale price so ordered in just XL, thinking I could exchange later. The sleeves are cuffed a hair but otherwise it fits well in the regular!
