What I Wore: Going Country
Dress: Charlie Jade (L) (similar, plus option) | Belt: Vintage (similar) | Boots: DUO (similar) | Bag: c/o Brynn Capella | Necklace: VerseJewelry on Etsy
I wore this look for Easter.ย This year it was chilly, grey, and damp.ย Every year we go to my mom's house for brunch, and then Emerson does an egg hunt in her backyard.ย Considering this I wanted to be warm and have shoes that could handle tromping around in soggy grass.ย I decided to wear this dress I bought last year (last seen on the blog in this post), added a full slip under the built-in lining, and wore my beloved first pair of DUO boots (RIP, sorry but Ted & Muffy is NOT a good replacement).ย These boots are almost a decade old, very comfortable, and have many years of waterproofing on them.ย They have been worn to every music festival I have attended, gone camping, and been on a few hikes.ย I have gotten them reheeled and resoled, I replace the insoles, they look very well-worn but I don't care I love them and plan to keep them until they literally fall apart.

Those muddy boots are over-the-top fantastic! I would never give them up either – & the rest of your outfit is stunning too, by the way.
You look terrific!
That is such a fun outfit! And you are so right about Duo (sniff!) – so sad about how they have rebranded. Not only are their prices now eye watering, the store itself has changed beyond recognition. It used to be such a fun and friendly place to visit and it’s now… well, not! Hope you had a lovely Easter.
Very cute look! I bought a maxi skirt slip from herroom and love it. It certainly has helped transition a lot of outfits. I agree about Ted&Muffy. They have priced me out of any purchase even with the first year discount to existing DUO customers. I am so glad I got 2 pairs of boots from them in the last two years, thanks to a recommendation of yours.
This out fit is so you! And I adore the boots. One of the things that’s often missing from many c/o outfits is character or history — hard to do that with brand-new clothing — and the character in this outfit shows why the most compelling style often has a healthy dose of mixing and matching to it.
