Tonight is the opening night party for The Shoe Hive‘s pop-up shop “Hive on the Hill” at Tabula Rasa on Barracks Row. The event starts at 7pm and there will be drinks, noshes, and tons of gorgeous shoes and accessories. I am going straight from work to the event so this is what I am wearing for the full day to night.

Alison of DC Celine and I are co-hosting and we each made a gift list of some of our favorite pieces from The Shoe Hive. Of course, stylish shoes (including the ones I am wearing) but also apparel, accessoires, home decor, and gifts.

The Shoe Hive gave me these shoes as a gift for hosting, and they are so fabulous! They are from Pour La Victorie, animal print, calfhair, and surprisingly comfortable for the height of these heels.

Chunky gold chain necklaces

These chains are from eBay; they're so over the top and so fun to wear. I love the contrast of the gold with the heather gray of the Old Navy Vintage v-neck t-shirt.

The other day I was chatting with Kat from Ginger, Adorned on Twitter. She also got this tutu and I mentioned this skirt and she suggested wearing them together… and so I did! Adds some fun volume and I love how it peeks out from under the skirt.ย

I often get all hot and uncomfortable at social events and decided to prepare accordingly with a short-sleeved top.ย You know how much I love these Old Navy vintage v-neck t-shirts.

Since it was chilly, I added my Ann Taylor jacket and a scarf. I love the mix of patterns with the paisley of the scarf and the animal print of the shoes. I hope to see you tonight at the Shoe Hive event!

  1. Aw I love the knotted t-shirt paired with the full skirt. That’s a really great idea to layer a tutu under a skirt kind of like a crinoline. I’m loving your dotted heels too!

  3. My sister lives on the Hill and I would have loved to have come to Hive on the Hill with her for a Sisters Night Out. Alas, too late to adjust the evening schedule at this point. Next time !

  4. Love how it gives the skirt even more fullness and just peeks out at the bottom. I’ve threatened to wear my tutu to work 4 times this week. My husband in mortified. And this is the guy who won’t stop telling people that I won’t ‘let’ him wear PJ pants in public. I think it get a pass, dude. ๐Ÿ˜‰
