This is the denim jacket and tee from my real-life capsule wardrobe. As I showed in this post, I wore them the other weekend with my dark jeans and silver sneakers. Since then, I slipped on a step on my deck one rainy morning letting my dog out and broke my left big toe. I don't need a cast on the toe, but the only shoe right now that is roomy, comfortable, and supportive enough in my wardrobe are these Chelsea boots from Vionic (previously seen here on the blog). So I've been spending the past week dressing more around these shoes than sticking 100% to my wardrobe.

They look like twill or denim but they're made with their Freedom Knit which on the inside looks and acts more like a sweatshirt.ย  They stretch but retain their shape, are a nice weight, and a great alternative to jeggings or yoga pants for the weekend.

  1. Wow…those pants really do look like a regular pant—how perfect!!
Bummer about your toe—I’ve only been reading your blog maybe 2-3 years now—first there was the arm and now the toe! Is this a trend? (i’m sure you hope not!!). Maybe you should do a series of posts on “what to wear when you break your (insert body part here).” I’m trying to be funny—I hope you’re not offended!! jodie

    1. I am Calamity Jane. Went through pregnancy and bedrest fashion, then I tore my calf muscle and had to deal with that, then the arm, now the toe… I think that’s enough physical issues for a while, I’m ready for a break (oooh bad word choice!)

  2. Thanks for the recommendation on the pants. Unfortunately they were sold out (I’m also not a fan of the patchy parts of the pants, but I DO think they look cute on you), but I signed up with JAG and got 15% off on a nice pair of skinny white pants in that stretchy fabric recommended instead.

  3. Sorry about your toe! Love this outfit. What I really want to say as well is that every time I see your new hair style, I love it. I hope you do too!

    1. I love it so much too! I was going to post the same thing. It’s not “soccer mom” at all, Allie! It’s stylish and intentional and amazing.
