When the weekend comes, I don't have time to plan out outfits.ย  I have created a weekend uniform: jeans, a knit top, and a topper. It's easy to choose sweater coats and cardigans in the fall, but a stretchy jacket like this ponte number from NYDJ is just as comfortable but more refined. This is the type of piece that can work for the office with trousers as well as dress down with a tee shirt for the weekend. With a lot of stretch that can help me chase after a kindergartener on the playground, and a big cup of caffeine to give me energy to go all day, I'm ready for any given Saturday or Sunday!

  1. That looks great! So nice to see a fellow mom keeping her style and not just falling down the yoga pants rabbit hole!

  2. This jacket is so cool! It looks very comfortable, but wicked edgy, which I love ๐Ÿ™‚ You look perfectly put together for a casual weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Love the look as well. The dark lipstick adds to your “edge-y” look with the logo tee.
Are your temperatures in the DC area that warm? We’re just getting over a monsoon here in the NYC area and the temps are in the low 50s which means something a little bit more warmer than a jacket, but not enough for a coat, although I’ve seen both worn around the City lately.

    1. I wore this look this past weekend, and it was quite comfortable. As for today, I just got back from my physical therapy session. Walking there at 9:30 I wore a blanket poncho and was chilly in the wind; walking home I was sweating in it but it was too breezy to completely remove it and be in my long-sleeved knit. So I think this jacket would be a perfect alternative and will likely be worn this weekend too! ๐Ÿ™‚

And yes, I’m liking the strong red lip this fall, it also looks nice with a less-done rest of face, which is kinder to my skin and quicker to complete in the morning!
